This Black Maternal Health Week, we uplift and celebrate the powerful work being done in our community to support and protect Black mothers and families. 🖤🤱🏾

We are proud to stand alongside our founder, Jatu Boikai of mOBiNurses Inc. , Olivia Atley of , and Erica Lane of —three incredible birth workers who are deeply committed to advocacy, education, and compassionate care for birthing families.

Black maternal health is about more than awareness. It is about community, equity, and ensuring that Black women are heard, respected, and supported throughout pregnancy, birth, and postpartum. Through their work, these women are helping shift outcomes, empower families, and create safer, more informed birth experiences.

This week and every week, we honor the dedication of birth workers who are fighting for better care and brighter futures for Black mothers and babies. ✨

If everyone had a truly positive birth experience, it wouldn’t just change birth—it would quietly reshape entire generations. Not in some magical, perfect-world way, but in very real, ripple-effect way across health, families, and society.

The birthing space as we know it exists because of Black women and Black men.
From ancestral midwives and healers to modern doulas, nurses, physicians, advocates, and scholars—Black people have always held birth with knowledge, skill, and deep reverence.

Black women carried communities through birth long before hospitals existed.
Black men have supported, protected, organized, researched, and fought for safer outcomes and reproductive justice alongside them.
Together, they laid the foundation for holistic care, informed consent, community-based birth work, and culturally rooted practices that are still used today.

This month, we honor the legacy.
We celebrate the brilliance.
And we commit to continuing the work—protecting Black families, uplifting Black birth workers, and reclaiming birth as a space of power, safety, and dignity.

Birth work is Black history. Yesterday. Today. Always.
