Your knee pain has 3 possible culprits.

Here's the thing: Most people only look at their knee. That's the mistake.

Your pain is a symptom of a PATTERN your body learned. And there are 3 places that pattern can come from...

πŸ”΄ Your HIP is weak (outer hip muscles not doing their job)
πŸ”΄ Your ANKLE is stiff (can't move the way it should)
πŸ”΄ Your KNEE itself (tracking inward, poor alignment)

Probably it's a combination.

Most people never figure out WHICH ONE.

So they keep trying random exercises and wondering why nothing works.

I just finished a complete guide that walks you through identifying YOUR specific cheat pattern and fixing it.

Would you want to see it?"

Which of these patterns do you think is your issue?

Not sure, simply comment "guide" and I will get you the link.

Stand in front of a mirror and squat slowly.

Do your knees:

A) Point straight ahead
B) Cave inward toward each other

This matters because...

If your knees are caving inward (valgus collapse), that's one of the most common cheat patterns I see.

And the GOOD NEWS? It's fixable.

Want to know what causes it? Any idea why you should care?

This is one of the #1 tests I analyze when you have knee pain.

It seems simple. Yet reveals so much.

I can test your hip strength when you're lying down. But that only tells me a part of the picture. I need to know what happens when you are on your feet and moving--because that's usually when pain happens.

Outer hip weakness, often gluteus medius, will let your knee cave inward when you squat.

This is 1 of the top 5 things I look at for knee pain.

You're doing everything right.

Working out. Staying active. Being the healthy role model your family needs.

But lately, every time you squat, your knee reminds you it's not happy.

Here's what I want you to know:

Your knee pain isn't a sign you're broken.

It's a MESSAGE from your body.

And that message? It's fixable.

Let me explain what's actually happening...

Your knee has found a way to keep you working out, but has to compensate and adapt to do it.

I explain it all in depth in my latest article (see link in first comment)

Heavy black boot with velcro straps...everything sticks to the straps...the screeching noise of unvelcroing...it can trigger memories for some

Day 1 with a boot is not bad...but those boots get heavy day after day
You start to lean to one side when you walk to help clear your foot from the ground

Once you can put weight on it you think that will help...
Until your knee starts to hurt...

For some therapy is prescribed...
For others...simple advice of "wear this 6 weeks then take it off" is all that is given

There is STRATEGY in how to get back from a boot.
How to walk in a gym shoe again
How to walk on gravel and uneven ground outside without starring at your feet
How to hop, jump and balance when the dog sees a squirrel and decides to pursue...

So much of life that is unexpected but can be improved
It can be strategic
It can be filled with days of you on your feet ALL day with your family trying to keep up with you for a change

This is one story

One of the hundreds I have helped to go from the dreaded black boot back to being unstoppable

Always happy to help

Have you heard this?

Not many women have. This should be taught to everyone!

So what can be done?

If you are a runner who runs 5 days a week...swap out 2-3 runs for strength training.
If you only workout on occasion, add 2 days a week of strength training.
Not just any strength work though.
Workout with a heavy enough weight that after 6 reps you feel you are starting to fight to keep good form. Aiming for 3-5 sets of 6 reps is a great plan. I always aim for 3 exercises working the same muscle group for a complete workout.

Blessed.
