Stop looking for the short cut ✋🏼

Everything started falling into place in my health and fitness when I stopped looking for the short cut around everything.

I ran all the miles so I could eat all the things but you can’t out train a bad diet.

I did the free Pinterest/Youtube workouts but I wasn’t consistent since I didn’t have skin in the game.

I did the 1200 calories a day but you can only restrict yourself and starve your body for so long before it becomes unbearable.

All the short cuts I took in my wellness sucked my soul and stole my joy and really fed my depression and anxiety. My love, you’re doing it all wrong.

Take the long road. The one where fitness heals and nutrition becomes empowering. The road that brings longterm sustainable progress and happiness. The one that makes you smile every time you press play on your workout (yea, this really does happen.) The road that brings so much joy that the accomplishment literally beams from your eyes.

The short cut brings you a fading high while the long road can truly change your whole damn life from the inside out. Grab my hand babe, I’ll show you how.

Your doubts creates mountains
But your actions move them 🏔

I said yes to coaching with an expiration date in mind. I doubted it from the minute I pushed send on my application. I wanted it to work out sooo badly it hurt, so I took action despite the doubt.

I’ve showed up each day with an action to take in my own health first and because of that action Ive moved so many mountains in my life. With threes years under my belt I may still have doubt creep into my life but there’s no longer an expiration date attached to coaching, EVER.

I love my wellness habits because they are sustainable. I kept up with most of my routines even on vacation because they make me feel amazing and I’ve made them into my normal schedule of life.

Today I won’t:
❌ Start a crash diet
❌ Overthink the pizza, Chinese and drinks we had while traveling
❌ Overexercise to “make up” for the extra treats and added rest days I had the last nine days

Instead I will focus on moving my body intentionally with strength training and my daily one mile walk. I will get in my gallon of water and I will focus on getting in my veggie servings.

Our wellness habits are supposed to bring us more joy in life - not become a punishment for that said enjoyment.

Can I tell you a secret 👋🏼

Your success still counts even if someone else helps you achieve it. YES I SAID IT.

This limiting belief is why I struggled for so long. I struggled in my health because as a trainer I believed my body was the problem and not a lack of support and accountability towards my goals. I struggled in my mindset because I was battling crippling anxiety and had zero confidence in myself. I wasn’t growing in any aspect of my life because I was terrified of taking leaps and failing.

The biggest problem I faced was not having a single human being (besides my fam) behind me pushing me to be greater or showing me how. This is the greatest thing to change my life. A support system behind me believing in me from getting my workouts in when I lack the motivation to expanding my business and changing the course of my life. And I didn’t even know I needed it.

When you link arms with me, fitness or business 🙌🏼, you get a community and team of women cheering their lungs out for you. And guess who’s going to be in your front row cheering the loudest 🙋🏼‍♀️

You don’t have to go it alone to be successful. Let me show you what it feels like to have a hype squad.

Parents need functional fitness 🙋🏼‍♀️

Yesterday running through the airport I looked to Michael and said “damn, we are superheros.” It wasn’t just because we had successfully rebooked ourselves on a new flight same day after being canceled - Nah, it was because between the two of us had carried a:

Stroller
Car seat
Pak N Play
40 Pound Checked Bag
Three personal items
AND A THIRTY POUND TODDLER through two airports!

YALL THATS SUPERHUMAN STRENGTH, or at least it’s what that felt like. Im so thankful for this 13 week functional training program I committed to three weeks ago because I truly didn’t know how imperative it was going to be in my daily life.

Wanna know what functional training looks like? See the picture above.

Being busy and being productive are two different actions. One slowly but surely moves the needle forward in the direction you are trying to go while the other endlessly fills your day without the accomplishment of completing any needed tasks.

By pruning down the list of things that “keep me moving” each day, I intentionally choose to prioritize my top three action items that will move the needle forward one day at a time. Everything else is just extra credit 🥰

Great things take time. At almost two and a half years postpartum I’m finally starting to look in the mirror and recognize the woman in its reflection.

Postpartum is a forever journey and one with no finish line. I really wish this was something that was shouted from the roof tops instead of what I heard 👇🏼

❌ If you breastfeed the weight falls off
❌It took nine months to make them and nine months to lose it
❌You’re fit, you’ll bounce back before your six week checkup

This is what set me up for failure in the early season of postpartum. I literally thought there was something wrong with me. The photo on the left was me at about nine months postpartum and can you imagine if I had just given up then and there. I felt so defeated even a year postpartum and yet there was something in my head and buried in my daily actions that kept me going and showing up.

It was the vision of this mama today. Still 15+ pounds heavier than her pre baby self but doesn’t give a s**t because she feels amazing. Great things take time. They take failure. They take rest. They take hustle. Great things take just about everything from you.

But you’re worth it. Everyday and every step. You are no broken mama, great things just take time.

The best advice Ive received in my entire life. “Do the simple things savagely well.”

Whether its being a mom, a business owner or just talking about our health and fitness goals. Here’s what I know:

You don’t have to be the most knowledgeable. You don’t have to be the most disciplined. You don’t have to be the most intense or the most experienced. And I promise you don’t need anything more than what you’ve been equipped with already.

By doing less things better - you get so much more. Do less to have more ✨

My biggest goal is to get this program into the hands and the homes of as many people as possible. Now that’s a big goal and let me tell you why - this program is going to change so many people’s lives.

I became a personal trainer because I wanted others to learn how to build fitness and health into their lives like I was able to find in my own. Eventually I partnered with an incredible health and wellness company because I saw the opportunity to bring wellness to even more people who couldn’t make it to the gym or couldn’t afford their own trainer.

But honestly there was a missing link between training my clients in person and them being on their own at home, which was the personalized programming benefits and form cues. But being one week into this 13 week functional training program I know the game has completely changed.

This program is going to build functional life long strength to anyone who begins days one. Its going to bring mobility, stability and flexibility to everyone who sits in a chair most of the day. Its going to bring better postural awareness to anyone who interacts with technology. Its going to teach people proper mechanics of lifting and squatting so that we can pick up our children without injury.

This program is going to change lives and I hope you join me to see how much we can improve our day to day life with just 45 minutes of intentional movement a day.

Today is day two of my 13 week functional training program and I already know its about to train my life. ⁣

Its not because its so hard I can barely finish. Its not because I’m left gassed at the end of the workout. Its not because I’m the most sweatiest ever. Im obsessed because its going to literally make my back so f$& strong and prevent my low back injuries and pain. ⁣

I have struggled most of my adult life with low back pain and every so often a slipped disc and annual back tweaks. Its infuriating. I blame it up to my family’s degenerative disc disease or just not paying attention to how I move but by the second workout of this program - I CAN TELL its going to change how my body moves and functions foundation-ally. ⁣

This program is for ⁣
- Anyone wanting to improve mobility in their hips, ankles, shoulders and low back⁣
- Anyone wanted to come back to fitness after an injury⁣
- Anyone looking to improve their body’s foundational movements ⁣
- Anyone looking for a trainer that focuses on form first and cues you like they were right in the same room⁣

Anyone who just moves their body daily (or wants to) will benefit from the foundational strength this program is building. Even me, an ACE/NASM certified CPT because even trainers need trainers.
