I am not planning on having kids back in my office this year (given vaccination roll out) so I've been working on creating a program I can administer online. After lots of study, contemplation and additional training, I'm excited to share http://ChildAnxietySupport.com Because it's an online program that's more like a one-to-one course I can also work with people beyond Ohio so if you know anyone who wants help with an anxious kid, please share!

Turn Your Anxious Kid into an Anti-Worry Super Hero! Does your child melt down or flip out before or after new experiences (baby sitters, new food, visits with family)? Do they complain of headaches and stomaches even though the doctor says they’re fine? Do they have trouble falling asleep because...

This is beautiful. Parenting is hard. Growing up is hard. Letting go is hard. But we are meant to do all of these things and so we can.

Why did my sweet 5-year-old become so stormy when she started kindergarten?

Shared on my personal timeline, too. This is why you don't have to feel bad for the time you spend taking good care of yourself.

Evidence shows there's a link between depressed parents and their offspring. But a new study suggests that when teens benefit from treatment for their depression, there's a ripple effect on parents.

You're not alone if you feel this way.

Everyone knows about postpartum depression, but depression is actually most common among moms of middle schoolers, a study finds. Think surly kids, hormonal changes and skimpy support networks.

I want to tell you a story about a mommy in a hole.
It was a deep hole, and she’d been there for quite some time. In fact, she couldn’t quite remember when or how she’d even fallen.
She was starting to despair of ever getting out.
People around her were worried.
Her family threw down a rope, but she couldn’t climb up.
Her doctor threw down a rope, but she still couldn’t budge.
Then, another mommy came along. She took one look in the hole, and like all of the others, tossed a rope over the edge.
And she climbed down.
“Wait, what are you doing down here with me?” The first mommy was puzzled.
She looked the other mommy in the eyes and saw the same pain and sadness and exhaustion reflected back at her. But there was something else, too.
There was hope.
And immeasurable strength.
The other mommy gave a kind and knowing smile, and wrapped her arms around the first.
“I’ve been here before,” she said. “And I’m going to climb out with you.”
For all the mommies who climb down holes just to help another find her way back up. ❤️
