PENDLETON - An inmate at the Pendleton Correctional Facility was stabbed to death in an attack Saturday morning. Officials at the facility say 35-year-old Daniel Dewitt of Columbus died around 8 a.m. at Saint John's Hospital in Anderson. He was attacked by two offenders around 6:30 a.m. Saturday when offenders housed in the facility's "H" cell house were being released to the gym for recreation. T

wo suspects, both offenders at the prison, have been identified and placed in segregation as the investigation continues into the attack. The maximum security portion of the prison is on lockdown and visits are being suspended until further notice. The minimum security dorms continue to operate normally. Dewitt was six months into a 17-year sentence for dealing in a controlled substance and a ten-year sentence for being a felon in possession of a firearm.

Daniel's favorite book me n my sisters would read to him when he was little.. How ironic 😇🙏 Even tho every chapter of his book had the same twist and turn,he still tried n fought to avoid his entire adult life "the monsters" and evil ones constantly reminded us "WHO" was in charge.. what i'm trying to do now is remind his son that some choices were only circumstances of our "Story" that only few care to know and share.. many will agree tho D was one of the good ones regardless of how they painted him.. long story short , There really were Monsters at the End of His Book.. love ya always 3-D both of you 😔😇🙏
