In My Backyard Health & Wellness In My Backyard Health and Wellness is a community health intervention approach towards addressing health disparities. on Saturday mornings.

All IMBY events are free and open to neighbors and the general public. Sessions last between one to two hours beginning at 10:00 a.m. Sessions consist of healthy cooking demonstrations, tai chi, yoga, diabetes management, gardening, zumba, bicycle riding and other . At each session free health and wellness materials are provided to new participants such as diabetes health manuals, pedometers, waterbottles and cookbooks. At each sessions IMBY participants are placed into a drawing to receive the 800 pages plus, World's Healthiest Foods. This book is the foundation for all IMBY healthy cooking demonstrations.

Garden 2021, last year garden will be similar to this year's plans. I will be adding a few new concepts in container gardening and demonstrating those methods. I am happy to announce that I will be offering gardening classes in 2022. Those classes will be April , 23 and May 7th. All classes will start at 12 noon and end by 2:00 p.m. The class fee is $20.oo per person in advance and $25.00 the day of each class. Group discounts will be offer for 3 or more. More information coming soon.

Our Story

In My Backyard Yard Health and Wellness (IMBY) began in April 2010. A community based initiative that promotes and supports adopting and sustaining a healthy lifestyle. IMBY has provided free programming to hundreds of people since its start in April 2010. In 2019, IMBY will be producing gardening videos and posting those videos on our YouTube channel. We will also be conducting healthy cooking demonstrations. We thank those volunteers and supports who have made it possible for us to continue to provide this important community based initiative. And we look for to this year of providing more programming that supports our vision of improving the health and wellness of the individual, families and our community.
