The Annual Caring for the Caregiver Expo's invites you to Give the Gift of Support This Giving Tuesday!

This Giving Tuesday, we invite you to make a meaningful difference in the life of a Caregiver. Every day, Caregivers pour their time, energy, and love into supporting others—often with little time left for themselves. A few hours of your time can provide a much-needed break, a helping hand, or simply a moment of encouragement for someone who rarely asks for help.

Whether it’s running an errand, preparing a meal, sitting with a loved one, or offering companionship, your kindness can lighten the load for a Caregiver who truly needs it.

This Giving Tuesday, please consider donating your time.
Help a Caregiver rest, recharge, and feel valued.
Even the smallest act of service can make a big impact.

Thank you for choosing to care for those who care for others.

Congratulations Ohio State Buckeyes 👏

Holiday Message to Our Caregivers!

As we enter this special season of reflection, gratitude, and togetherness, the Annual Caring for the Caregiver Expo team would like to extend our heartfelt appreciation to you. Whether you care for a loved one, support a neighbor, or serve professionally, your compassion and commitment make an incredible difference.
The holidays can be joyful, but they can also be demanding—especially for caregivers. This season, we encourage you to give yourself the same kindness and care that you so generously give to others.
Here are a few simple ways to reduce stress and stay healthy during the Holiday Season:
• Give yourself permission to rest. Take short breaks, even 5–10 minutes, to breathe, stretch, or simply be still.
• Set realistic expectations. You don’t need to do everything. Choose what matters most and let the rest go.
• Ask for help. Share responsibilities with family and friends—caring is not meant to be done alone.
• Stay connected. Reach out to someone who lifts your spirits. A quick call or message can brighten your day.
• Keep meals simple and nourishing. Focus on easy, balanced foods that keep your energy steady.
• Make time for moments that bring you joy. Listen to music, enjoy holiday lights, or savor a quiet cup of tea.
• Move your body gently. Walk, stretch, or dance to your favorite song—whatever feels right for you.
• Practice gratitude. Even noting one small thing each day can ease stress and lift your mood.
• Set boundaries with love. It’s okay to say “no” when needed to protect your emotional and physical well-being.
As we celebrate the season, we also look ahead with excitement to next year’s events.

Why I created The Caring for the Caregiver Expo!

When my Mother passed away in 2004, my sister and I were there to care for my Father who had spent over 50 years loving her. Now he was lost, grieving, hurting, sick, desperate and in need of our help. The first 3 years caring for my Father were the hardest. He had been a strong Man who took good care of his family all his life and now he was in need of care. Truth be told my Father did not want to live without my Mother. We refused to let him give up and through good, bad and hard times, we made sure my Father was safe and well taken care of with dignity and respect. With the Grace of God and our family and friends support, my Father lived an additional 13 years and passed away in 2017.

Being a Daughter, Mother and now Grandmother, I know what it means to be a Caregiver and I know what it means to need Care through the love and support of your Family, Friends and health professionals. This is why I created Caring for the Caregiver because of my first hand experience with my Father. It is our hope and intention to provide you with valuable information, news, opportunities, guidance, up lifting support and love with some much needed pampering as we go through the journey of life.

I recently read a quote from Former First Lady Rosalyn Carter who sums Caregiving up the best.... “There are only four kinds of people in the world - those who have been caregivers, those who are caregivers, those who will be caregivers and those who need caregivers.”

So I ask.....which one are you?
