The answer to this week's post is: Dipylidium (also known as tapeworm) eggs! This intestinal parasite is contracted when a pet swallows a flea infected with a tapeworm larva, often while grooming themselves. Yuck! But don't you fret. The wind storm is causing us trouble at the office. We've had repeated power and internet outages each time a big gust comes through. Because of this, we may miss your phone call. Please leave a message and we will return your call as soon as we can between outages.

If you are experiencing high winds where you live, here are some suggestions to keep your pets safe! 🐕🐈💨

• Be sure gates are closed and fences are secure before letting your dog outside.
• Check that collars are properly fitted, and leashes are securely attached.
• Secure exterior doors so they don’t accidentally blow open, allowing a pet to escape.
• Make sure your pet is wearing an ID tag.
• Keep a tight hold on the leash when walking. The sound of the wind or items being blown about can startle a pet.

Our friend Violet gets nervous at the vet so her mom brings her emotional support stuffy along for the ride. With the help of her friend, Violet was the bravest girl and was awarded the coveted Golden Paw award! Great job Violet, see you next time!
