Purple Podded Pole Beans... alongside of a pole bean called "Rattlesnake" pole bean.

Rattlesnake pole bean is not only exotic and intriguing looking but also one of the best tasting 😋 stringless varieties I have tried!! I think they are simply cool looking!!

They should be available in small quantities soon. I'll keep you posted... 🙂

Garlic Scapes are in!! Just $2.00 per bag!!

But what are garlic scapes? See brief description below...

Located at the farm stand at 4925 Territorial Rd., Benton Harbor, MI 49022 (we are at the crossroads of Territorial and North Branch Rd in the small community of Millburg).

Eat them raw (if you're brave enough) or dice 'em up and cook them like green onions to add to your favorite dish for a milder garlic flavor.

What are garlic scapes?

Scapes are the flower stem of the hard-neck variety of garlic and are removed in order to redirect the plant's energy into forming larger garlic bulbs rather than the garlic flower. The formation of the scapes means that the garlic harvest is a couple of months away!! Keep your eyes peeled for updates!!

The scapes often have an elegant/exotic curlicue (curled) growth habit, as seen in the pictures. I have even seen garlic scapes in the occasional flower bouquet.

SPECIAL NOTE: We operate using the HONOR SYSTEM of PAYMENT. Please do not steal. We had some challenges with theft last year. Please place your payment in the container located in the blue tote under the table.
