Dr. Ackerman is always focused on integrating therapies that are results-driven, clinically sound, and efficient.

That’s why he’s become a strong advocate for incorporating cryotherapy with American Cryo into his treatment protocols.

He values it for one simple reason — it works.

Cryotherapy delivers fast-acting pain relief and powerful inflammation-reducing benefits. By rapidly decreasing inflammatory markers and calming irritated tissues, it creates an ideal physiological environment for healing. When paired with spinal decompression, this combination often enhances patient response, improves comfort during care, and supports better overall outcomes.

For Dr. Ackerman, it’s never about adding something trendy — it’s about adding something strategic.

Cryotherapy has become a key adjunctive therapy in his practice, helping patients get results faster while elevating the level of care provided alongside spinal decompression.

Less inflammation.
Faster relief.
Stronger results.

She was trying to fix her lower back… and ended up stuck upside down calling the police. 😳

In this reaction video, Dr. Ackerman couldn’t help but shake his head — not at her, but at the situation. When someone is in pain, they’ll try anything for relief. And that’s exactly how people end up trusting gadgets before getting an actual diagnosis.

Dr. Ackerman explains that low back pain isn’t one-size-fits-all. An inversion table might temporarily decompress the spine, but if there’s disc pathology, instability, degeneration, or nerve involvement, hanging upside down without a proper evaluation can make things worse.

That’s why in Dr. Ackerman’s office, there’s no guessing.
✔️ Comprehensive spinal examinations
✔️ In-office imaging when clinically necessary
✔️ Identification of the phase of subluxation
✔️ Targeted spinal decompression when appropriate
✔️ Corrective exercise programming to keep patients strong and stable

Relief without a plan leads to relapse — or rescue calls.

If your back pain has you thinking about flipping yourself upside down, Dr. Ackerman recommends getting evaluated first… and staying right side up the smart way.

Because education matters.
Because informed patients make empowered decisions.
Because your spine deserves more than “just live with it.”

Stay tuned — we’re pulling back the curtain on disc health, healing, and what true spinal restoration looks like.

This Tuesday at 2PM EST, we’re going LIVE with and .DavidAckerman to break down how we integrate localized cryotherapy into our Disc Centers of America treatment protocols for whiplash injuries resulting in spinal disc injuries.

We’ll be showcasing how AmericaCryo cryotherapy is used in our office to support spinal decompression care, reduce inflammation, and accelerate healing in patients suffering from bulging and herniated discs, including whiplash and post–motor vehicle accident injuries.

Dr. Ackerman will walk through real-world clinical application, how cryotherapy complements non-surgical spinal decompression, and why pairing advanced recovery technology with precise diagnosis and structured protocols leads to better outcomes for complex disc cases.

This is about more than symptom management — it’s about protecting the spine, restoring function, and helping patients avoid unnecessary injections or surgery.

✨ One of Dr. Ackerman’s favorite days in the office ✨

Yesterday, Dr. Ackerman was sharing an incredible moment with our maintenance patients—all of whom have completed their neck and lower back SPINAL DECOMPRESSION programs and are now coming in with phenomenal, long-lasting results.

These days are special because we get to see the full journey: patients who once walked through our doors with severe, debilitating pain, often on the verge of surgery or irreversible procedures, now returning pain-free and confident, simply maintaining the success they worked so hard to achieve.

❄️ What made yesterday even more powerful was that it followed a weekend of heavy snow. Many of our patients were out shoveling—yet every single one reported being impressed with how well their bodies held up after such a physically demanding task. That’s the true measure of results: real life, real movement, real confidence.

💬 Dr. Ackerman always encourages questions. If you’re curious about SPINAL DECOMPRESSION or our maintenance programs, or wondering whether you—or someone you know—may be a candidate, don’t hesitate to reach out.

“If spinal decompression works so well, why not use it for everyone?” 🤔

Great question—and an important distinction. Spinal decompression is highly effective at reducing pressure within the disc, making it ideal for treating disc herniations, bulges, and disc-related nerve compression. Chiropractic care, however, addresses a different—and equally critical—component: restoring proper alignment, mobility, and function to the spine above and below each disc.

When combined, spinal decompression treats the disc itself, while chiropractic adjustments, stretching, and strengthening exercises correct biomechanics and support long-term spinal stability. This integrated approach allows us to improve disc health and spinal function together—delivering better outcomes, faster recovery, and more sustainable results.

This is why, for the right candidates, doing both is not redundant—it’s essential.

After spinal decompression successfully relieves pressure from bulging and herniated discs, the work is not finished.

One of the most critical—and often overlooked—steps is correcting the spinal curvature.

Proper spinal curves allow the body’s weight to be distributed evenly, reducing ongoing stress on the discs. When curves are lost or reversed, abnormal pressure remains on the spine, increasing the risk of continued disc compression, degeneration, and symptom recurrence.

At Active Chiropractic Care and Commack Disc Centers, we focus not only on decompressing the disc, but on restoring alignment, structure, and function of the spine—especially the cervical and lumbar curves—so results are sustainable long term.

Correcting posture and spinal curvature helps:
• Reduce disc pressure
• Improve biomechanics and movement
• Protect your results after decompression
• Support long-term spinal health and performance

If you want to learn how spinal decompression and curvature correction work together to create lasting results, contact our office today to schedule a consultation.

Your spine was designed with curves for a reason—let’s restore them.
