Harry Bruce White

Harry Bruce White, age 88, of Concord, North Carolina, passed away peacefully on December 14, 2025, in Concord, North Carolina, surrounded by care and love.

A funeral service will be held on Tuesday at 5:30 PM at Wilkinson Funeral Home Chapel, with the family receiving friends from 4:00 PM to 5:30 PM prior to the service. Burial will take place at Fern Knoll Cemetery in Dallas, Pennsylvania.

Harry lived a full and vibrant life marked by devotion to his family, pride in his work, and a generous spirit that touched everyone around him.

Born on November 29, 1937, in Dallas, Pennsylvania, Harry was the son of the late Marion Louise (Williams) White and Niles Mitchell White. He was preceded in death by his brother, Lee White.

He proudly served his country in the United States Army, a commitment that reflected his strong sense of duty and responsibility. Following his military service, Harry dedicated 29 years of his life to his career as a Tool and Die Maker with IBM, a role he approached with precision, diligence, and pride. Though he completed some college coursework after graduating from Dallas High School, it was his hands-on skill and work ethic that truly defined his professional life.

Harry shared 57 years of marriage with his beloved, late, wife, Shirley Jean (Rogers) White, and together they built a life filled with love, laughter, and countless memories. Their bond was the cornerstone of Harry’s life.

A man of many passions, Harry was deeply immersed in the world of racing. He began as a drag racer, went on to become a stock car driver, and later spent nearly 15 years as a stock car team owner in New York and Pennsylvania. Racing was more than a hobby—it was a way of life that brought him joy, friendships, and unforgettable experiences. When not at the track, Harry could often be found tending to his extensive vegetable gardens, generously sharing his harvest and lending a hand to neighbors whenever needed. He was known for his willingness to help others, his volunteer spirit, and his quiet kindness.

Harry also cherished life’s simple pleasures. He loved his dogs dearly and found great contentment sitting outside with his faithful canine companion, enjoying a toddy and the peaceful moments of the day.

Harry is survived by his children, Jeanne L. Fegan and husband Robert of Mountain Top, Pennsylvania, and Kenneth R. White of Concord, North Carolina; his grandchildren, Dr. Katherine Fegan, DVM, and Robert Fegan; and his devoted canine companion.

In lieu of flowers, the family suggests planting a tree in Harry’s memory, a fitting tribute to his love of nature, generosity, and the lasting legacy he leaves behind.

Wilkinson Funeral Home is honored to serve the White family.

Roger Conway

Roger Edward Conway, age 76, of Concord, passed away peacefully at his home on December 12, 2025, surrounded by the love of his family. His life was defined by devotion—to his family, his work, and the many interests that brought him joy.

A celebration of Roger’s life will be held at 2:00 PM on December 20, 2025, at Wilkinson Funeral Home Chapel, with visitation from 12:00 PM to 2:00 PM prior to the service. Burial will follow at Carolina Memorial Park.

Born on March 5, 1949, in Oak Ridge, Tennessee, Roger was the son of the late Hazel Alene Galbraith Conway and Nelson Astor Conway. He graduated from A.L. Brown High School in 1968 and later earned an associate’s degree in accounting from Central Piedmont Community College, all while working at Dover’s Supermarket.

Roger spent more than 30 years in the auto parts industry, a field where his knowledge and kindness were equally legendary. Known as a true Auto Parts Pro, he could identify any part brought in without looking it up and bring back the replacement and the gasket that went with it. Over the years he worked at AutoZone, Penske, Pep Boys, Ace High Performance, and Advance Auto, always taking pride in helping others and treating customers like friends.

Roger was known for his storytelling, his wit, and his unmistakable personality that left a lasting impression on everyone he met. In his more active years, he played tennis, enjoyed golf, and was a skilled marksman, enjoying time at the range. He was a lifelong car enthusiast who took special pride in his beloved 1972 Barracuda, meticulously built by Henry Turner—a reflection of Roger’s appreciation for craftsmanship, performance, and attention to detail.

Thanks to his wife and son, Roger became a loyal Concord Spiders fan, assisting with things like blowing leaves off the tennis courts before a match when Ed played on the team. He volunteered on Thursday and Friday nights for 20+ years in the Concord High School football press box with his family and Jerry Hathcock, the Voice of the Spiders.

Above all else, Roger was a devoted husband and family man. He shared 54 years of marriage with his beloved wife, Pam Conway, after they met at the Holiday Ice rink in Concord. Their bond was the foundation of his life. He left her notes of love around their home and Roger was indebted to Pam for the years of caretaking through his various health challenges. When asked during a doctor’s appointment to write a sentence, Roger wrote “I love my wife.” He took great pride in his family and treasured every moment spent with them, their dogs through the years, and as Papaw to his only granddaughter.

Roger is survived by his wife, Pam Conway; his son, Roger Edward “Ed” Conway, Jr., and wife Jenn, and their daughter, Chloe Conway; siblings Jerry Conway and wife Sandy of Kannapolis, Patsy Riner of Jacksonville, Florida, and Greg Conway and wife Mary Ellen of Charlotte; along with many nieces, nephews, and cousins.

The family extends heartfelt gratitude to Dr. Kelling and his staff for their decades of compassionate care and dedication. The family would also like to thank VIA Health Partners for their care and compassion during Roger’s journey.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Alzheimer’s Association, 4600 Park Rd STE 250, Charlotte, NC 28209.

Roger will be remembered for his generosity, his stories, his love of cars, and most of all, his unwavering love for his family. He will be deeply missed and forever cherished.

Stephen Anthony Stoy

Stephen "Steve" Anthony Stoy, age 73, of Harrisburg, North Carolina, passed away unexpectedly at his home on November 30, 2025.

The family will hold a memorial service at a later date to celebrate Steve's remarkable life.

Born on July 19, 1952, in Bristol, Pennsylvania, to the late Olga Laura (Podesta) Stoy and George Glenn Stoy. He is also preceded in death by his brothers, Paul and Glenn Stoy, and his sister, Diane Olga Stoy.

Steve grew up with an inquisitive mind and a natural curiosity about how things worked, traits that would guide him throughout his life.

After high school, Steve proudly served his country in the United States Air Force during the Vietnam era, where he worked as a radar repairman. His time in the military deepened his appreciation for technology and problem-solving, sparking a lifelong passion that shaped both his career and his hobbies.

Following his service, Steve pursued his education at UNC Charlotte, earning his bachelor's degree in engineering technology and beginning a decades-long career at the university he loved. Starting at UNCC around 1980, he dedicated over 30 years to advancing the university's technological infrastructure and security, ultimately serving as an Information Security Officer. Steve's colleagues remember him as a forward-thinking innovator: someone who was always one step ahead, building and experimenting with technology long before it was mainstream. From working with Gail on early computer models like the Commodore PET to designing his own hardware interfaces that could connect computers to blood pressure monitors, thermometers, and scales, Steve's ingenuity was matched only by his curiosity.

Outside of his career, Steve had a deep and thoughtful nature. He was a founding member of the local Libertarian Party and enjoyed exploring ideas surrounding artificial intelligence.

At home, Steve was devoted to his family. He is survived by his wife Gail Toler Stoy; his sons, William Stoy (Laura) and David Stoy (Rachel Brewer-Stoy); brother, Philip Stoy; a number of nieces, nephews and cousins; his two beloved "grand-dogs," Moose and Milo, who never failed to bring him joy. Steve and Gail enjoyed 45 years together. They enjoyed whitewater rafting, camping, and programming tools and gadgets together. They were also long-time Panthers fans and had season tickets and spent many a Sunday cheering them on with their sons and their lifelong friends, Kenny and Margo Patton.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Computer History Museum in Mountain View, California, or a charity of your choice, honoring Steve's lifelong dedication to innovation, education, and discovery.

Steve will be remembered for his brilliance, his quiet humor, and his unwavering curiosity about the world. His legacy lives on in the technology he helped shape, the colleagues he inspired, and the family who loved him deeply.
