I’m pretty sure we had the first birth of 2026 in all of Horry county and possibly the whole state of SC!

Happy birthday Evelyn Rivera! Although we don’t know for sure, momma Christen and papa Kris think this is the first baby born at home in Horry County (12:36 am)! Her sister Sophia is a proud big sister!

Baby finally came at 42 weeks!

Thank you for being so patient and all the prayers.

It's a boy 🩵

Ezra Douglas came flying into the world at 6:52pm last night. 8lbs 11oz and 21.25in long. He is so chill.

He was born at home with Natural Birth at Home and a surprise assist from Chloe Michelle Clauser . Literal dream team.

Can't wait for everyone to meet him.

Recovery is going well but we won't be back until at least the new year.

So thankful for this group of amazing women! We’ve shared laughter and tears, late nights and coffee-fueled mornings, beautiful births and unforgettable moments. I am so grateful for the way we show up for each other and the families we serve.

“We may be the only specialty that continues to do major abdominal surgery without a shred of evidence of benefit,” said Dr. Steven L. Clark, an obstetrician at Baylor College of Medicine in Texas who has extensively studied electronic monitoring. “We just plow blithely on.”

Round-the-clock fetal monitoring leads to unnecessary C-sections. But it’s used in nearly every birth because of business and legal concerns, The Times found.
