Many kids love small confined spaces that evoke a familiar womb and a sense of safety. Forts, crawl spaces, and cozy nooks are great spaces to take breaks and hunker down with books!

For day 22 of my personal “Giving Thanks” challenge I’m thankful for this special nook! Built under a set of stairs, this nook is often filled with stuffies and a child that blends right in.

💗 I loved making DIY Activity books in my elementary days and I’m “Giving Thanks” for these early memories! As a young child, it was loads of fun to create, give, receive, and complete these books.

🧩📒 I’m in the midst of creating an activity book for ONLY I-Love-Yous! where children can express big worries and discover ways to feel reassured, validated, confident, and surrounded by positivity! Coming soon!

Family fun time with the whole crew is essential - the laughter and inside jokes that are shared, the connectedness felt when we all sing along, the sensitive talks that just happen naturally, and the pitching in to help when you see help is needed are just a few highlights from these moments. Family fun times are one of my greatest “I-Love-Yous” - cozy, comforting, full of love, and always recharging!

We love the rain and thunderstorms but this wasn’t always the case for my children! They could play in the rain for hours and be amazed by the crackling light show but trying to fall asleep during a thunderstorm was a challenge.
