[3 Signs of Anxiety]
1️⃣ Constant Worry or Overthinking
Feeling tense or preoccupied with worst-case scenarios, even when things are fine.
2️⃣ Physical Symptoms
Rapid heartbeat, muscle tension, headaches, or stomach discomfort are common signs that your body is reacting to anxiety.
3️⃣ Avoidance or Difficulty Functioning
You might start avoiding situations or tasks because they trigger stress or panic, impacting work, school, or relationships.

Anxiety is treatable with therapy, coping strategies, and sometimes medication. If you recognize these signs in yourself, consider reaching out to a qualified mental health professional. Early support can make a meaningful difference.

ADHD (Attention-Deficit/Hyperactivity Disorder) is often misunderstood. Here are three evidence-based facts:

1️⃣ ADHD isn’t just about hyperactivity.
Many individuals especially teens and adults primarily struggle with inattention, disorganization, forgetfulness, and difficulty sustaining focus.

2️⃣ ADHD affects both children and adults.
Symptoms begin in childhood, but ADHD can persist into adulthood. In adults, it may appear as chronic procrastination, poor time management, impulsivity, or unfinished tasks.

3️⃣ ADHD is a neurodevelopmental condition, not laziness.
Research shows differences in executive functioning and neurotransmitter regulation, particularly dopamine and norepinephrine. It is not caused by poor discipline or lack of intelligence.

Our Approach to Treatment
At the Center for Integrative Psychiatry in DFW, we support individuals with ADHD through:
• Structured therapy focused on attention and behavioral strategies
• Medication management when clinically appropriate
• Life coaching to strengthen time management and organizational skills
• Functional psychiatry evaluations to explore contributing factors
• Telehealth services for therapy sessions and follow-up appointments

If ADHD symptoms are affecting academic, work, or daily functioning, a comprehensive evaluation can help determine appropriate next steps.

Sometimes the smallest habits can help interrupt the biggest emotional spirals.

Before your thoughts race or emotions feel overwhelming, pause and drink a glass of water. Staying hydrated supports brain function, emotional regulation, and stress response more than we realize. It won’t fix everything, but it can help your body slow down enough for your mind to catch up.

A gentle reminder: take a breath, take a sip, then take the next step. 💧
