💚It's Tip Tuesday!💚

With Thanksgiving right around the corner, our speech therapist wants to share a few tips each week on how to maintain consistency and a healthy routine by serving meals at consistent times, offering small and more frequent meals, scheduling main meals strategically, encouraging hydration, and avoid rushing! These tips help improve our seniors quality of life during mealtimes everyday here at Windmill!

Our Memory Lane neighborhood had such a wonderful time today making adorable reindeer Christmas treats out of marshmallows and playing a few festive rounds of bingo! 🎄🦌

💚It's Tip Tuesday!💚

With Thanksgiving right around the corner, our speech therapist wants to share a few tips each week on how to improve mealtimes for our residents and elderly family members. This week's tip is how to adapt the food and how it is served. For example, preparing food for easier eating (cutting food into small, bite sized pieces), use contrasting colors (use utensils and plates with different colors than the food), place food consistently (to decrease confusion), consider alternative meals if necessary, and provide easy to use utensils (thicker grip utensils, plate guards, etc.).

Today we took our Memory Lane neighborhood to Cheddar’s Scratch Kitchen for lunch! 🍽️
Everyone enjoyed delicious meals and great company — it was such a fun outing filled with laughter and smiles. ❤️
