And last, but certainly not least, August is all about cultivation.

As summer winds down and the harvest season begins, we wanted to incorporate some of the most important lessons into our final four camps of the summer.

🌾 Farm Foundations: campers will get to learn about behind-the-scenes tasks that we farmers do daily that keep the farm running. Upkeep, chores, and other important elements that oftentimes get overlooked.
🐥 Timeless Moments: our youngest campers will help us prepare the farm for fall. What do our animals need to prepare for chilly temperatures? What about our plants?
🍠 The Squash Cycle: We may have touched on seasonal crops already, but there's plenty more to do in the fall! We'll talk about crop rotation, what we can plant during the fall, winter, and springtime, and how we prepare the farm for a midwest winter.
🐐 Farm Finale: Join us as we prepare for the fall, the harvest, and a finale that'll make going back to school worthwhile!

Next up? July at Camp Bee Sage, we're filling our minds and tummies!

July's four camps are engineered to teach our campers not only about the crops we plant, but why we plant certain food at different times, and what to do with food when it's ready.

🍪 Bee Sage Bakers: campers will learn about seasonal produce, cold crops, and how to turn various foodstuffs into delicious treats
🍞 Just Dough It: though the name suggests bread, our campers will do more than bake sourdough--they will also learn about cultivation and harvest!
🫛 Beets, Peas and Greens, Oh My: food is good for more than just eating (don't worry, there will be plenty of that, too!). Our youngest campers will get to put their imaginations to the test and explore what all we use our food for
🥕 The Garden Lab: Plants are good for so many things, and this group of campers will get to learn all about the many uses for herbs and spices!

We've kept you waiting long enough... June at Camp Bee Sage is all about the Building Blocks of Life on the Farm!

We've designed four camps for the month of June, all to teach kids about the crops, plants, and animals we deal with every day on our farm.

💐 Spring Flowers: campers will get an introductory look at how plants and animals grow and blossom into the beautiful, living things we know and love
🐐 How Farms Work: slightly older campers will explore in more depth what goes into the nurturing of these flora and fauna
🌱 The Science of Farming: our oldest campers will dig into the science behind the growth and life cycles of the farm's plants and animals, all while having the same amount of fun
🧚‍♀️ Fairies and Friends: Can't have hard work without a little bit of make believe, too! Our youngest campers will learn about how we treat nature's smallest and most gentle creatures (real and imaginary).

Price: $125 per person

What’s Included?
• Light snacks & beverages
• All materials, equipment, and ingredients are provided. Just bring your creativity!
• Every participant will take home 4 handmade bars of goat milk soap made in class.

What to Wear:
• For safety and comfort, please wear long pants and a long-sleeve shirt that you don’t mind getting a little messy.

Age Requirements:
• This class is designed for ages 16+
• Children under 16 are welcome only with close supervision from a parent or guardian
