I JUST HAD MY FIRST SOCIAL MEDIA FIGHT!!😳🙄🤔
This is NOT how a massage should look or feel. 🙅🏽♀️
When your body tenses, lifts off the table, or you’re holding your breath and yelling, your muscles are fighting the very work you came in for.
Why that’s a problem:
Tight muscles block the therapist’s pressure and limit blood flow.
Your nervous system stays in fight or flight mode, which limits muscles to release and repair.
It can actually make you more sore afterward.
A professional massage should never be about “toughing it out.”
It’s a collaboration with your breathing, your comfort, and the therapist’s skill all working together.
Your job as the client:
Breathe. Communicate. Let go.
Our job as therapists:
Adjust pressure, pay attention to your body, and keep you safe.
