Today ends Alopecia Awareness Month. So I wanted to take time to share some news with you and ask for your support in my efforts to ensure that no one feels bad about their appearance due to their lack of hair.

My goal this year has been to bridge the gap between my passion for offering hair replacement services and the accessibility of those services to all regardless of their financial situation.

Over the past few years, I've received countless emails, dm's, text, phone calls from people desperately seeking services but they ultimately couldn't afford them. So for the past few months, Ive been working diligently to create a space that would allow anyone in need to be able to receive services.

I firmly believe when a person looks good and feels good about their self they can conquer the world and your wallet should not be the determining factor in that.

So to help combat this issue I have create the Gift of Hair Foundation, INC

The purpose of this foundation is to provide the help needed to help men, women, and children be confident about themselves through the gift of hair.

For years, I've given away services at certain times of the year and now I'm creating a space for others to help me continue to help those in need.

Hair Loss Edition

So did you know ”hair thinning”, “hair loss”, “hair shedding”, and “hair breakage” are all different.

Hair thinning happens naturally over time as we age. And is not always a bad thing. It is irreversible in most cases do to the change in out hair growth cycle. In this instance you protect and take care of what is so to not make it worse.

Hair loss is the loss of hair in patches, throughout or all over the scalp. When the follicles are still active it can stopped and reversed pending there are no underlying health or skin conditions.

Hair shedding happens daily. Normal shedding is 50-100 strands a day and does not typically leave a noticeable difference in hair density. When excessive sometimes something as simple as a deep conditioning can help.

Hair breakage is typically caused by improper hair care. Over processing, improper detangling, wrong products, dry hair can all be a cause. To combat and prevent add moisture. Get yourself the proper hair care system. Nourish, moisturize, strengthen the hair. Avoid adding protein, this can make the problem worse.
