My big old goofy grin here is thanks to the amazing trainer I started working with ! Because y’all… sometimes we just need a little help! My goal for winter was to work on increasing my lower body strength to improve my marathon training come summer… my dinky little maintenance program which hasn’t changed much since my last marathon a year ago wasn’t getting the job done… I asked Heidi to help and not only did she point out some great ways to tweak my current program but she also identified a significant asymmetry that is likely contributing to my foot issue… which I will talk about some other time lol! Today’s workout was incredibly hard and humbling… We worked on some weak dusty old muscles that have been too long neglected. Thank you for opening my eyes!

Swimming is so tough, but I am so grateful to these wonderful women for introducing me to this awful beautiful challenging sport… especially since I cannot run as much as I would like with this darn foot injury! More to come on that…

Such an amazing weekend at the New River Gorge Trailfest!! A challenging 5k Friday night under the iconic bridge followed by an even more challenging half marathon Saturday morning! Over 2000 ft of elevation gain for the last 2 miles 😱. It was epic! Highly recommend this race! Absolutely beautiful!

Richmond marathon ✅ It was crazy hot and crazy hard, but thanks to these amazing ladies and my other training buddies back home I was able to achieve my goal of a sub-5 marathon, 🎉 Thank you to my running crew, my understanding friends, family and patients for a great training season! Grateful to you all! 🙌
