We celebrated the incredible team members who helped bring the Converge project to life — a monumental effort that united us under One CHRISTUS, One Patient, One Record.

This wasn’t just an information technology project — it was a mission-driven transformation that brought together nearly every CHRISTUS associate to implement Epic across all of our ministries and create a single, unified patient record system.

While the Converge project is coming to a close, it marks the beginning of an exciting new chapter — one where innovation, collaboration, and compassion will drive how we care for our patients and support our staff.

I feel truly fortunate to work alongside such passionate, talented, and mission-driven teams. A huge shout-out to our outstanding Health IT teams and everyone across CHRISTUS Health who contributed to this journey. Your hard work, resilience, and shared purpose made this vision a reality.

Had the pleasure of sharing the stage with some incredible healthcare luminaries to discuss one of the most transformative forces in our industry—Artificial Intelligence. We dove into real-world implementations, the measurable benefits, the challenges we must navigate, and the evolving regulatory landscape.

AI is not just a future concept—it’s happening now. And as healthcare leaders, we must be intentional in how we prepare, govern, and adopt these technologies to truly enhance care delivery, outcomes, and the clinician experience.

We also emphasized the critical role of strong governance models to evaluate, manage, and steward AI responsibly. As adoption accelerates, thoughtful oversight will be key to ensuring safe, equitable, and effective use.

Grateful for the opportunity to learn, share, and collaborate with such brilliant minds.

Over the past few weeks, we took on the momentous task of implementing Epic across 18 hospitals and over 100 outpatient clinics—a transformation of incredible scale and complexity. While we had our share of hiccups, I could not be more proud of our teams who worked around the clock to make this happen.

This achievement would not have been possible without the unwavering dedication of our ministry & system leaders, operational and clinical teams, IT & informatics professionals, revenue cycle experts, trainers, many more, and countless support staff who put in extraordinary hours—often away from their families—to ensure a successful transition. A special appreciation goes to our frontline clinicians, who embraced this change with resilience and a shared commitment to improving patient care, knowing that this system will ultimately benefit our patients, caregivers, and partners for years to come.

While this is a significant milestone, it is just the beginning. We are excited about what lies ahead as we continue optimizing our systems to best serve our patients and associates. Most importantly, this implementation brings us one step closer to our One CHRISTUS vision, unifying our ministries to deliver seamless, high-quality care across all the communities we serve. To everyone who contributed—whether seen or behind the scenes—thank you for your dedication to our mission of extending the healing ministry of Jesus Christ!

In the face of potential closure, our teams stepped up to ensure that a hospital in Texarkana remains open to serve the community. This was no small feat—it was a monumental effort involving countless hours, coordination, and collaboration across all CHRISTUS Health teams through a challenging turnaround.

Special shout out to our incredible CHRISTUS St. Michael teams, who already provide exceptional care at our existing Texarkana campus and are now bringing the same high standards and compassion to this new location. Your dedication is a shining example of our mission in action.

I am incredibly grateful to have participated in the year-long Physician Leadership Program at CHRISTUS Health. This experience has been transformative, allowing me to learn and grow alongside some of the most brilliant physician and operational leaders from across our system.

These conversations highlighted how technology, when effectively implemented and supported, plays a pivotal role in enhancing patient care. The commitment and insights from the Spohn leadership and staff are truly inspiring. Their feedback is invaluable as we continuously strive to improve our systems and processes.

Exploring the potential of AI in healthcare with Christus Health & Deloitte teams was inspiring and thought-provoking.
