We are so excited to start growing food this upcoming spring! Right now all our little seedlings are in the greenhouse getting bigger and full of nutrients, so that when they are ready to go in the ground they will thrive!

🌱Aloe Vera! 🌱
Many of you probably recognize the name from your local pharmacy, but perhaps you haven’t spent as much close-up time with the plant itself!
Aloe Vera is a succulent that grows mostly in tropical or semi-tropical climates. It originates from the Arabian Peninsula and has been used for medicinal purposes dating back to ancient Egypt.
Here are some great uses for it:
🌿 Sunburns
🌿 Heartburn
🌿 Mouthwash
🌿 Lowering blood sugar
🌿 Laxative
Definitely consult the internet before using it for medical purposes!
We encourage you to keep getting closer to your plants. They can help you and you can help them!

✨Spirituality + Nature🌱
The relationship between our connection to nature and our connection to something bigger than ourselves truly are one in the same.
Society pushes a narrative that we somehow are separate from nature - but we are very much a part of it.
We are nature.
As much as a flowers, birds, soil, and sky.
As we watch the perfectly designed harmony of a plant’s life, from seed to fruit, we can see how we continue that cycle by gardening, eating, and replenishing.
We are part of the grand design of the earth.
We are the gardeners, the thinkers, the creators.
We are no better than any other living thing- because all life informs all life.
🌸 At Cosmic Dance we are blessed to see how we fit into the process of that bigger picture very clearly. We get to observe the natural cycles and our roles within them
🌸 This is a GIFT and we want to share that gift with all of you!

We have watched these trees evolve over the season- changing in color, shape, size, texture.

The truth is, we are just like trees. Depending on the season, we change.
✨ we look different
✨ we need different things
✨ we feel different

Lately, a lot of us at Cosmic Dance have been feeling the “dark season”, so to speak.
Sometimes it is hard to stay motivated and see the big picture, but we are remembering that we are always evolving with the season!
Also, our CBD has been a HUGE help on the days that have been challenging.

We never thought we would spend multiple days a week riding in the back of a Toyota Tacoma up a redwood forest mountain for farming, but that’s part of the spontaneity of life! 👩‍🌾
A huge part of living outside and working outside is not only to connect to land, but each other.

Meet one of our lovely chickens! She and the other ladies 🐓 create quite an orchestra for us during the day, but we are so grateful for their eggs 🥚 and company!
How chickens can be sustainable:
🌱 Save food waste and feed them to your chickens
🌱 Collect fresh eggs daily
🌱 Help eliminate bugs on property
Taking small steps toward closed-circle systems like this help create a ✨shift in mindset✨ toward being less wasteful, more sustainable, and more connected to our food and wellness.

Meet past WWOOFer Elle! Here she is holding some beautiful h**p plants - our version of a Christmas tree!
It’s amazing to see how these plants start as seeds, grow, get harvested, processed, and eventually shipped to you in the form of a unique herbal smoking blend to enjoy after a long day! 🌿✨
As the new year approaches, you may be considering what metaphorical “seeds” you want to plant for 2021.

How often do you take time to get to know the plants that you live near?
When was the last time you paused to look at a beautiful flower, or to admire the texture of some leaves?
It can be really easy, especially during COVID, to forget about the abundance of life outside of our homes.
During these times of lockdowns, uncertainty, and widespread illness, it is perhaps the MOST important it’s ever been to create a relationship to nature- 🌲 the creation of life is so massive, so powerful, and so healing.
Bundle up and take a walk outside today. Find a plant that you haven’t spent time with, and get to know it a little better.
Maybe even make a little bouquet 💐 😊
