❤️ Today, Samaritans across our system are proudly wearing red for National ! And this is only some of them - more to come!

American Heart Association's Go Red for Women annual campaign raises urgently needed awareness about cardiovascular disease, the leading cause of death among women.

By wearing red, we join millions across the country in sparking conversations about prevention, early detection and the unique symptoms women may experience.

Today we stand together supporting survivors, honoring those we’ve lost and empowering women everywhere to know their numbers, understand their risks and take charge of their heart health.

💛🦆
Last week, Good Samaritan Regional Medical Center celebrated National Rubber Duckie Day, with cheerful duckies of all kinds popping up throughout the facility — bringing smiles to staff members, visitors and patients alike.
The lighthearted tradition dates back to Sesame Street. In 1970, Ernie introduced the world to the song “Rubber Duckie,” turning a simple bath-time toy into an unexpected symbol of joy and comfort. The tune became so popular it even landed on the Billboard charts, reminding us that small moments can have a big impact.
Sometimes, a little fun goes a long way — and these duckies proved it. 🦆💛

Blood donation is so important! Read about Megan and Ava's story and consider scheduling a donation in memory of Ava. 💜

🩸 January is National Blood Donation Month!

Megan Hosmer, one of our own at Samaritan Health Services, began donating blood after her stepdaughter Ava relied on frequent transfusions during cancer treatment. Inspired by Ava’s strength, Megan now donates regularly — and her blood has even helped patients right here in our community after making it's way to Good Samaritan Regional Medical Center.

💪 You can make a difference too. Donating takes about an hour, can save a life and be done year round.

❤️ Donate today. Every drop counts.

Good Samaritan Regional Medical Center

Good Samaritan Regional Medical Center is one of four Level II trauma centers in Oregon and is the largest hospital in Benton, Lincoln and Linn counties. It offers dozens of medical specialties, including comprehensive cancer care, a full-service cardiology and cardiovascular surgery program, neurosurgery, orthopedic and spine surgery, inpatient mental health and other regional services.

Good Samaritan Regional Medical Center is located in Corvallis, Oregon, a diverse and thriving college town that is home to more than 55,000 residents. It is located in the heart of the Willamette Valley and is just a short drive from the beautiful Oregon coast. The city is the home of Oregon State University, one of the top academic colleges in the state. The city provides many different opportunities for recreational hobbies as well as theatre, symphony and other nightlife venues.

Good Samaritan’s history includes an important connection with the Episcopal Diocese of Oregon, which enabled the hospital’s reorganization as a not-for-profit facility in 1948 when the for-profit Corvallis General Hospital fell upon challenging times. This Diocese and the local Episcopal church continue to the be represented on the hospital’s Board of Directors, and its faith-based tradition is reflected in the annual Social Accountability Grants the hospital makes in support of a variety of local health initiatives. These grants are informed by health priorities identified in the hospital’s community health assessments, which are conducted every three years.
