The Samaritan Foundations are grateful to Central Willamette Credit Union for their partnership with our Samaritan Patient Support Program.
Their team recently presented a check for proceeds from their Community Impact Card program that will help to provide services and care to patients in our communities. Three cents of every purchase made with the Samaritan Foundations Community Impact Card benefits patients throughout our region!
Our team recently attended CASA of Linn County's Stand Up for a Child Luncheon, and we were proud to sponsor an event that shines a light on the vital role CASA advocates play for children in foster care. ๐ We appreciate CASAโs commitment to supporting local kids and the impact they make every day!

Weโre excited to recognize Melissa Babbitt with Infusion Services at Samaritan Albany General Hospital as one of our Rising Stars! ๐ A patientโs ride home didnโt go as planned, which turned into a stressful moment for everyone involved. Melissa stepped in to sort out the details with multiple contacts while arranging a new pickup. She also made sure the patient felt supported while waiting by offering reassurance, food and water. Her calm approach helped turn a tough situation into something manageable. ๐
Letโs celebrate Karrie Spier, CMA, at Samaritan Family Medicine - Main St., who is one of our Rising Stars this month! ๐ A patient suddenly couldnโt walk after arriving for an appointment, and Karrie responded instantly. She gathered what was needed, directed nearby staff and brought in a clinician right away. Her quick action helped identify a possible stroke and made sure the patient received fast care. ๐ Karrieโs steady presence made a real difference for everyone involved.
A huge shoutout to Samaritan Pacific Communities Hospital employees James Tonick, registered phlebotomist, and Leah McGuire, advanced nurse practitioner, who were honored as our recent Rising Stars!

๐ Big news in Cardio-Pulmonary Rehab at Samaritan Pacific Communities Hospital! Thanks to proceeds from the Pacific Communities Health District Foundationโs 2025 Gala & Auction, weโve welcomed three new recumbent steppers. Gratefully, an additional anonymous donor generously funded a new elliptical machine for the department. ๐โโ๏ธ๐ ๏ธ
The team is thrilled to replace aging equipment and expand access for patients. As Manager Ashley Nordstrom shared, โThe Nu-Steps are our most popular and adaptable machines. Replacing them allows us to increase class sizes and serve more patients in our community.โ
With thousands of patient visits each year, this upgrade will make a real impact. Even Department Secretary Marcy couldnโt resist testing out the new gear! ๐
