Hey all!

In honor of all the women out there preparing for their births, I've made a *free* video on my 3 Secrets to Birthing in Your Power!!

These were the huge takeaways from my own birth (as well as what I've seen validated in other women's experiences), that I believe made the biggest difference in me having a smooth and joyous birth. I hope that they can gift you with something as well xx

Below is a sneak peek on one of my three secrets. You can listen to all three for free here: https://harmonicbirth.com/3-secrets-of-birthing-in-your-power :)

Hope that you all are getting cozy and nostalgic this holiday season!

MY BIRTH STORY IS LIVE!

It is so wild to hear my voice on a podcast that I hold so dear to my heart. Hearing women tell their birth stories is true medicine for speaker and listener. These stories completely educated and inspired me to not only birth outside of the system, but to have the exact birth that I wanted!

I have such deep gratitude and admiration for my great friend and mentor, Emilee Saldaya (founder of the Free Birth Society ), for holding this space to allow me to unravel the many stories within my birth story.

Being transparent and open about the most intimate parts of yourself, really is as freeing as any cliché talks about. I feel a huge sense of relief and peace in the sense that I’ve spoken my story.

When you no longer have parts of yourself to hide behind, you’re free to dance your naked self about — as if my naked one year old wasn’t already enough of a testament to the bliss in that 💛.

Plus, in honor of all of the birthing women out there, I’ve made a FREE video of my 3 Secrets to Birthing in Your Power!

I hope that these birthing secrets can give you a helpful and perhaps new way to look at the magic of birth. They sure carried me through my own birth in absolute ecstasy — some might even say orgasmically 😉 har har har...

I never had an Instagram during my pregnancy or first year as a new mother with River, so it’s wild looking back through the archives of my camera roll and seeing which memories I feel called to share.

Instagram really does have the potential to be such an intimate scrapbook.

A photo reel for friends - or the whole world - to see and read you freely - and maybe even see themselves in your experiences. I’d say ideally, it’s where the best of our vulnerable journaling, pairs up with photos & video snippets, to all say something a little more.

It’s through these shared experiences that we relate, feel more connected, & more liberated in being open about ourselves & our reality.

I’ve come to find that in being our authentic selves, we find the belonging and community that we crave.

During my postpartum, I’ve been shocked to find that this has come easier online than in-person! I’ve never been a flippin online person?!

Online, we can go straight to a course, group, or forum, that directly relates with our passions. People get vulnerable on video calls and boom, fast track to a deep and loving connection.

Yet in-person, where are all of the groups that I love and want to be a part of? Are these just times of covid? Is it me? Is it where I live? Why are all of the mom groups here so far from embodying my values as a mother and as an individual?

I’ve been craving sisterhood. In the flesh. Laughter, adventure, & continuing the spontaneity of our lives with our babies in our arms. For the longest time, I just couldn’t find it. I thought, surely I'll intersect with the women I'm looking for when I'm meant to.

I felt a great deal of accountability for not attracting the sort of community into my life that I was looking for. What am I hiding? What am I not opening myself up to?

When I got real about what I wasn't doing, I realized what I needed to do.

Open up and create. Like-minded people aren't going to find you if you're not making yourself known and creating what you want.

In-person connections, now more than ever, are calling on us to create the world we want.

Create what you crave mama xx

New blog up!

Choosing a New Paradigm

“A woman’s greatest risk in childbirth today is her own choice of caregiver.”
- Whapio

Why? Because the paradigm that a caregiver works in will direct a woman’s birth.

Whapio, a birth worker of forty years, says that it’s now time for midwives and doctors to make room for birth keepers, as these new caregivers align with the paradigm of care that the vast majority of women today are longing for.

As a society, it is vital that we wake up to the abuse birthing women are experiencing by the second. For too long, women have tried to mentally block out their traumatizing birth experiences, because they were told to believe that their experience was normal, protocol, or even in the best interest of themselves and their babies.

We continue to choose caregivers who mistreat us. We continue to choose caregivers who don’t choose us back.

And yet, the vast majority of women don’t even realize that they have a choice.

But what if they did?

Hello and welcome to the new frontier of birth :)

As a birth keeper and mentor, I work with women who are interested in a home birth that honors the mother as the sole authority of her own body and baby.

I work with women to identify their own fears and limited beliefs that are holding them back from the purposeful life, pregnancy, birth, and motherhood, that they crave.

I offer childbirth, prenatal, and postnatal education, to educate a mother on her options so that she can feel confident and at peace with the choices that are most in alignment with her baby and her.

While pregnancy is a journey to the self, birth is a portal to expansion, and postpartum is the solidification of our bonds to our babies, ourselves, and those around us. I support and care for a woman during every one of these riveting stages.

It would be an honor and a joy to share a deep soul connection with you through the immensity of the journey that you are on.

If you’d like to learn more or are curious about my in-person (and online) offerings, please schedule a complimentary 15 minute call with me.

Sophia
