The answer to the question is - all three! They are all AI generated images. So, before trusting health advice online, ask yourself:
✔ Is the source credible and qualified? Sometimes people posing as nutrition experts and even doctors aren't sharing correct information.
✔ Do they cite reputable organizations or research?
✔ Are they selling something tied to their advice?
✔ Does the message encourage balance—not extremes?
When in doubt, talk with your primary care provider, registered dietitian, or healthcare team. Your health deserves accurate, personalized, evidence-based care—not viral trends.

Personal stories and dramatic before-and-after photos can be powerful—but they are not scientific evidence.
What worked for one person may not be safe, effective, or appropriate for someone else. Reliable health information is based on:
✔ Research studies
✔ Expert consensus
✔ Guidance from licensed healthcare professionals
Anecdotes can inspire—but they shouldn’t replace evidence-based advice. Always talk with your Pines Primary Care Providers before starting a new diet, exercise plan, or supplement.

Many influencers profit from supplement sales, and supplements are not regulated the same way medications are. That means claims may not be backed by science—and some products can even interact with medications or cause harm.

💡 If a supplement sounds too good to be true, it probably is. Always talk with your Pines healthcare provider before starting one.

In real nutrition science, there is no one-size-fits-all diet. Healthy eating patterns may look different for different people, but they often share key principles:
-Plenty of fruits and vegetables
-Adequate lean protein
- Fiber-rich foods
-Balanced carbohydrates for energy
Health is personal—and anyone claiming a single diet cures everything is oversimplifying a complex topic. If you are looking for a healthy way of eating, the Mediterranean "diet" is one of the best lifestyle choices for healthy eating - https://my.clevelandclinic.org/health/articles/16037-mediterranean-diet

If you have questions about nutrition, please speak with your primary care provider, who can best guide you on what you need for your individual needs.

On social media, people posing as nutrition experts, health coaches, or even medical professionals may share advice that sounds convincing—but is inaccurate, misleading, or even dangerous.

If a post leaves you feeling confused, fearful, or like everything you’ve been doing is wrong, that’s often the first warning sign. Evidence-based health information should inform and empower, not overwhelm or scare you.

The best resource for health information is your primary care provider or specialist that knows your medical history and what would work best for you!

We said ‘See you again soon!’ (because it certainly isn’t goodbye!) to our two Tufts Medical students, Elizabeth (Ellie) Janitz and Lauren Weller, who have been working closely with our teams at Cary Medical Center and Pines Health Services since arriving in the County last May. These third-year medical students are participants in the Maine Track program, a partnership between rural health providers like Cary and Pines, Maine Medical Center in Portland, and Tufts University School of Medicine. For the past nine months, Ellie and Lauren have been working closely with our team and our patients to gain experience and insights into how quality medical care is provided to patients in the County. The goal of the Maine Track program is to inspire more doctors to practice medicine in rural Maine where they are greatly needed.

Pictured with Ellie (on the right) and Lauren (on the left) is Dr. Carl Flynn, the Caribou Site Longitudinal Integrated Clerkship Director. In wishing these students well as they continue with their studies, Dr. Flynn noted how engaged and committed these two students were during their time here, how integrated they had become in the community, and encouraged them to comeback anytime (especially once they graduate and are looking for a job!). Best of luck Ellie and Lauren with the rest of your studies!
