Rev. Calvin E. Easley

Rev. Calvin E. Easley, went home to be with the Lord on October 27th, 2025, surrounded by his loving family. He was born on January 9th, 1942, to Charles Wayman Easley, and Alice Maxine Easley, in Coweta, Oklahoma. He attended grade school at Lone Star School and graduated from Coweta High School in 1959. After graduating High School, he attended Oklahoma State University, and Oklahoma Baptist University. He was called to the gospel ministry at First Baptist Church Coweta, Oklahoma, and licensed and ordained under the ministry of Rev. L.E. Cunningham. After his call in his teens, Rev. Easley was involved in preaching youth revivals with other young men who later became pastors and seminary professors. While pastoring his first church in Warner, Oklahoma, he served as the director of the (BSU), Baptist Student Union, at Conners State College. He was married to Judy Price, on November 24th, 1959, and they would have celebrated their 66th wedding anniversary in November of this year. He surrendered to the gospel ministry in 1960 and served in four churches over his 63-year ministry. These churches included: First Baptist Church, Warner, Oklahoma, (1962-1965), Second Baptist Church, Russellville, Arkansas, (1965-1970), Brookside Baptist Church, Tulsa, Oklahoma (1970-1977), and County Line Baptist Church, Broken Arrow, Oklahoma (1977-2025). Over the course of his ministry, Rev. Easley preached Revivals in several states, and led numerous groups on mission trips over several decades to Honduras and Nicaragua.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Charles Wayman Easley, Alice Maxine Easley, and his brother, Colbert Wayman Easley.

He is survived by his beloved wife of 66 years, Judy Easley, Sister, Margaret Box, (Marlin), Son, Terry Easley, (Konnie), Daughter, Tina Schroeder, (Dave), Daughter, Teresa Poplin, (Kirk), Son, Toby Easley, (Kimberly), Daughter, Tonja Eads, (16) Grandchildren, & (38) Great-Grandchildren.

He was deeply loved by all his family and church family. Ally, his oldest great-granddaughter wrote, “He never missed a chance to share God’s love whether on a mission trip, in a hospital waiting room, or during an elevator ride with a stranger. Witnessing wasn’t something he did; it was who he was. I can’t even begin to fathom how many people he led to the Lord over the years. He also spent a lifetime beside my nanny. Oh, how he loved her, and he did this so deeply until his very last breath. Together they raised five children and shared their love with sixteen grandchildren and thirty-eight great-grands. He didn’t just build a family; he built a legacy. I am so beyond thankful I got to be part of it. There is nothing in this life that will ever compare to the pride I feel in being an Easley.” We are all so grateful as a family to have shared in his love, faithfulness, kindness, and patience that he exhibited throughout his life (Isaiah 40:31).

Visitation will be from 9:00 AM – 8:00 PM on Thursday, October 30, 2025, at Brown Funeral Home in Coweta, OK with the family present from 6:00 – 8:00 PM. Services celebrating Calvin’s life will be at 1:00 PM on Friday, October 31, 2025, at the First Baptist Church in Coweta, OK with Dr. Toby Easley officiating and music by Pastor Terry Easley. Alfred Lloyd Curry, known affectionately as Al, by those who loved him, passed away peacefully on the 8th of October 2025, in Redbird, Oklahoma, just one day after his 85th birthday. He was born on the 7th of October 1940, in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma, to parents Amos Curry and Hattie (Hall) Harris. Alfred's journey began in Redbird, alongside his many siblings. A loving place where he grew up, attended the First Baptist Church, graduated from high school and eventually say his last goodbye.

In 1983, Alfred married the love of his life, Ruby Jean (Hines) Curry. Their marriage was a testament to devotion and partnership, Ruby often saying that Al was her soulmate and best friend. Although the heartache of her passing in 2019 was profound, the memories they shared continue to bring warmth to all who knew them.

Throughout his working years, Alfred dedicated himself to Da/Pro Rubber in Tulsa, where he retired as a respected Machine Operator. His professionalism and skill were matched only by his humility and kindness.

One of Alfred's greatest pleasures was vegetable gardening. He found serenity in the slow rhythm of nature, nurturing plants from seedlings to harvest. The bounty from his garden not only nourished his body but also his spirit, and he delighted in sharing this abundance with neighbors and friends.

Alfred's legacy is carried on by his two sons and one daughter, many siblings, nieces and nephews, and countless other relatives and friends. Each person's life he touched, he enriched with his presence and his enduring smile.
