Nancy has found out that she has lung cancer in her right lung. It is about 7cm x 7cm x 6cm.

We received horrible news today. Mom has had her radiation but the spots in her brain are worse than they were in July.

The Dr says since they are not shrinking she probably has 1 - 3 mos to live.

Anyone come visit Mom. She loves everyone.

I'm sorry if I missed telling anyone in person. This is a rough thing to deal with. My mind is all over the place.

This is for Mom! She is doing better.

She moved her left hand by herself yesterday! BIG HOORAY!!
But she still has cancer

With a heavy heart💔 and tears 😢 in my eyes, nothing is more painful than trying to smile and remain positive, but after many tests, being poked and prodded, chemo and radiation, the person physically changes and they can suffer with sadness. I know many of you do not give a crap about this message because, the cancer has not affected you. You do not know what it's like to have fought the fight, or have a loved one who leads or has lead a battle against cancer. 💛💗

So today could have been skipped. Ugh! Found our Mom got covid even after all our efforts to keep away from her. Her extended family wanted her to be committed to the hospital. But Mom does things her way. She has lung cancer but her oxygen was at 91-94. She has no symptoms of covid. So they sent her home. We are watching her very closely. We have calls into her radiologist and her oncologist.

Hopefully she will not get any symptoms. Say prayers for Nancy Rhodes !

We are up and getting ready for Mom's radiation!

Today, we took Mom to get her "mask" for her radiation.

She will start this on the 5th.

I told her she looked like the girl version of the movie....The Mask!

She was given decadron to take away the swelling in her brain as it is causing her left side to be slow and have issues moving.

We also got her a wheelchair for now. It will help her move around her house and when we go to her appointments.
They gave her two cushions for her bottomus and her back.

I feel like we did good today!

Bring on the radiation...we are ready!

We have a plan for Mom!
The 29th we go to get her mask made for her Brain Radiation. Then we start on the 5th for her radiation. She will have 10 treatments...4 first week, 5 the next week, and 1 on the last week. Then we see Dr Cohn for her tumor treatment. She has spots in her brain we are radiating to be gone. Say Prayers that they all go away!

Today me and Mom are waiting for Dr King to call so we can set up our appt time frames to, hopefully, get her treatment started!

After appt....

Dr said the molecular testing is not completely done yet. But in the mean time Mom will be undergoing Radiation, most likely in Grand Junction. Now we wait for the radiologist, Dr King, to contact us about the time and date.

At the cancer Dr for mom. Pray that they will do something today. We will tell you what they said when we are done!

We got the pathology report back. It's not small cell cancer so it's not aggressive. Which is great news!
But now they have to send it to be molecular tested to see if it is squemus or adenoid cancer.
We should know by next week on her appointment on the 17th.

So yesterday we went to the cancer center with Mom. They did not have the pathology test back yet...still waiting for news on the test.

The next step after pathology tests come back is sending the samples to get a molecular test done.

We are waiting to see how the cancer is growing so we can treat it the right way.

Currently we are looking at chemotherapy and possibly immunotherapy.

Next week on Thursday we will see her oncologist to see what the treatment plan will be for her.

Mom is out of her biopsy. Biopsy went well...Mom is doing good. Now waiting for her to recover.
