Meet Alexa! Our newest addition to the Light of Hope family. 🫶

About Alexa:

Hey there, I’m Alexa Glover, a born and raised Rhode Islander & Licensed Massage Therapist. I began my journey in the wellness industry as a Certified Reiki Master Practitioner and I look back at my time practicing energy work as a gateway into the world of massage & bodywork. I now have nearly 10 years of experience in this field and received my education from Connecticut Center of Massage Therapy in Groton, CT in 2017. I completed my 720-hour program and came out the other side at the top of my class, armed with a strong foundation in Swedish, Therapeutic, and Deep Tissue Massage with a heavy emphasis on Anatomy and Physiology and Kinesiology.

Over the years, I’ve made it my life’s work to build on this foundation; while the basis of my style of work is still deeply rooted in a Swedish-Therapeutic Massage, I have fused this with a deep and ever-growing knowledge of human movement, both in general & in a sport/athletics, the science behind function and dysfunction, and the framework of the nervous system. I have spent a large chunk of my career working with athletes of all disciplines, including world-class weight lifters, rock climbers, runners, and collegiate athletes. I’ve worked with people of all ages, bodies of all abilities - people from all walks of life. Massage is not a luxury, it’s an invaluable tool for every body that moves through this world.

Nowadays, I find myself using myofascial release, trigger point therapy, and a host of neuromuscular facilitation techniques. I believe that having a functioning body is both a gift and a great responsibility; taking care of that body is of utmost importance to ensure that we are able to continue to do what we love for as long as possible. My style of work has been described as both thoughtful & intuitive encouraging pain reduction, relaxation, ease of movement, and better stress regulation - all while creating a space that facilitates the body’s amazing and innate ability to heal.

About Jess:

Hi, I’m Jess Devereaux, LMHC. I’m a licensed mental health counselor in Rhode Island and a certified school counselor in Massachusetts. I specialize in working with children and adolescents, helping them build self-awareness, confidence, and emotional resilience.

For the past 13 years, I’ve worked in school settings with students from preschool through middle school, supporting young people through challenges such as anxiety, self-esteem, friendships, and major life transitions. I believe in creating a warm, supportive space where children and teens feel seen, heard, and understood.

My approach is relational and authentic, drawing from mindfulness, CBT, DBT, and trauma-informed care. I also incorporate journaling, art, and body awareness to help clients express themselves and strengthen the connection between mind and body.
