I thought I knew what to expect from but Spirit had other plans. This was my 5th time visiting Lily Dale but the first time I truly felt an awakening.

As I move closer to my 4th decade, I promised myself this year would look different. I’ve been shedding what no longer fits, shifting pieces of my life I didn’t even know needed shifting, and choosing joy as my compass. Because joy is where I’m meant to be and it’s where happiness is, where abundance flows, and where the truest friendships live.

When we arrived, we went straight to the healing temple. I’ve been before, so I thought I knew what to expect but Spirit had other plans. Something cracked open in my energy field. The next morning in the silent meditation circle, it deepened. My spirit team showed up and so did my loved ones in Spirit. Their faces appeared like little picture bubbles, some I hadn’t thought of in years. Their message was loud and clear: you’re shifting, you’re moving, you’re becoming someone new. Stop worrying about pleasing everyone. Come back home to you.

That night in circle, my aunt came through. I wasn’t expecting her. I felt her pain, the pain she had carried since childhood. Tears poured down my face as I gasped for air, cracked wide open in a way that reminded me: even as a medium, I’m still human. She validated things I’ve carried silently about her passing, and in her strength, she asked me to show up through it.

The next day, another beloved aunt came through with even more validation. And on our final evening in the healing temple, I felt the frequency of energy activate inside me again, something I hadn’t felt in so long. Sitting there with three dear friends, with no expectations, I felt free.

Spirit continued to show up through bees, through numbers, even through a {dead} snake lying in the shape of a heart. Every sign whispered: pause, let go, choose joy.

This trip reminded me that we’re all just walking this path together, not always knowing the weight each of us carries. But when we release the expectations and lean into joy, life reveals just how beautiful it really is.
