"Am I too old for surgery?”

That’s one of the most common questions women ask me about pelvic floor health.

Age alone isn’t a barrier. Today’s minimally invasive surgeries are safe, effective, and help women restore comfort, confidence, and control.

If non-surgical treatments haven’t helped enough, surgery may be the next best step. You don’t have to live with bladder prolapse or leakage; there are real solutions available.
🎥 I answer more of these questions in my latest video link in the comments below.

A woman recently traveled over 3,000 miles from Alaska to Atlanta for her bladder surgery after finding me online. She had no local urogynecology specialists, so she researched her options, discovered my videos and blog, and decided to make the trip.

The best part? She used her Lantern Benefits (formerly SurgeryPlus) to fully cover her surgical, travel, and accommodation expenses.

In my latest YouTube video, I share her story, discuss the advantages of minimally invasive va**nal and robotic bladder surgery, and explain exactly how Lantern Benefits can help you get the care you need.

If your employer offers Lantern Benefits, you may qualify for full coverage of your surgery. Learn how this works, and see why patients travel across the country for expert care.

A 50-year-old woman came in with severe prolapse of the uterus, bladder, and re**um. She had been managing symptoms like bladder leakage when sneezing, pressure in her va**na, and the feeling of something bulging down below.

She didn’t want to wear a pessary or keep adjusting something every few months. She wanted a real solution. A definitive fix.

We performed a va**nal hysterectomy using her native tissue. She also had bladder and rectocele repair, along with a collagen injection to help with stress urinary incontinence. All of this was done at a surgery center. After recovery, she was safely able to go home.

By preserving her ovaries, she maintained her hormone function. And because we used native support structures, there was no need for mesh.

This is a great option for women in their 40s, 50s, and 60s who have healthy tissue and want a natural, long-term result.

Heavy bleeding. Pelvic pain. Pressure. Painful in*******se. Bloating. Fatigue.

These are symptoms many women experience with fibroids. Some manage them with medication or more natural approaches. But when fibroids continue to interfere, it may be time to consider other treatment options.

As a board-certified urogynecologist, I perform robotic-assisted fibroid surgery a minimally invasive procedure that allows for greater precision and a more comfortable recovery. I guide each patient through the process, from what to expect and to what healing looks like.

Benefits of robotic-assisted surgery include:
✔️Smaller incisions
✔️Less bleeding
✔️Faster healing
✔️Minimal scarring

If you or someone you know is dealing with fibroid symptoms, I explain what happens during surgery and how this approach may help.

Heavy lifting.
Soaking in tubs or pools.
Intimacy before your doctor clears you.

These may seem like small details, but they play a critical role in how well your body heals after bladder prolapse or bladder leakage surgery.

As a board-certified urogynecologist, I counsel every patient on what to expect during recovery, including my 2 days, 2 weeks, 2 months healing timeline and specific activities to avoid at each stage to protect your repair and prevent setbacks.

The good news is that with the right care and precautions, most women recover well and regain their comfort, confidence, and quality of life.

Watch the full video to learn more about how to take care of yourself during recovery, including bonus tips for nutrition, movement, and rest to help you feel your best.

Fear. Frustration. Not knowing what to expect.
These are just some of the feelings women share with me when they finally come in for prolapse care.

Over the years, I’ve noticed three common reasons why women put off seeking help for their prolapse symptoms.

𝐅𝐞𝐚𝐫 𝐨𝐟 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐮𝐧𝐤𝐧𝐨𝐰𝐧
That first moment you notice a bulge or pressure can be frightening. Many women tell me they thought it was something much worse, like a tumor. That fear kept them from getting checked.
The truth is, the sooner you come in the more options we have and the easier it is to restore your quality of life.

𝐍𝐨𝐭 𝐞𝐧𝐨𝐮𝐠𝐡 𝐭𝐢𝐦𝐞
Women are so good at caring for everyone else. Spouses, children, aging parents, even their coworkers come before themselves.
But prolapse doesn’t improve on its own. In fact, it tends to get worse over time.
It is better to address it while your tissues are stronger and more resilient rather than waiting until it becomes more severe and harder to fix.

𝐓𝐫𝐮𝐬𝐭
Many women have shared that they waited because they wanted to find the right doctor, someone they could trust. Someone who would listen, understand, and create a treatment plan that is right for them.
That trust is what I strive to build with every woman I see.

If any of this sounds like you, comment below: FEAR, TIME, or TRUST. Let’s start the conversation 👇

When you are ready, I am here to help you feel like yourself again.

A 46-year-old woman came to me with symptoms of uterine prolapse: pelvic pressure, discomfort during s*x, a visible bulge, and difficulty with bowel movements. She had tried Kegels and a Pessary, but they didn’t relieve her symptoms. That’s when she decided to opt for surgical treatment.

As a board-certified, fellowship-trained urogynecologist, I performed a robotic hysterectomy and used AI-powered robotic tools to reattach the top of her va**na to strong pelvic ligaments. This added step is critical in helping prevent future bladder and va**nal prolapse.

In this post, I walk you through:
✔️ Signs of uterine prolapse and when to consider surgery
✔️ How robotic surgery works to prevent future pelvic organ prolapse
✔️ Why this approach offers faster recovery and better long-term results

You don’t have to suffer in silence. There are safe, effective solutions that restore your comfort, confidence, and quality of life.

Painful s*x, low arousal, labial irritation, va**nal
burning, dryness, odor, urinary burning, urgency and bladder leakage.

Not easy things to talk about…
Discomfort, frustration….

Unfortunately, this is what many women live with during perimenopause and menopause.

However, the good news is that women nowadays don’t have to live or put up with it. There are many safe and effective solutions that can improve a woman’s comfort, confidence and quality of life.

Such a rewarding experience educating women at the recent Perimenopause and Menopause Symposium in Cu***ng, Georgia on “Genitourinary Syndrome of Menopause”.

Be sure to watch my YouTube video on this topic. Link in the comments.
