Urinary tract obstruction happens when the normal flow of urine is blocked somewhere along the urinary tract. When that flow is interrupted, urine can back up into the kidneys, which may cause pain, increase the risk of infection, and over time can affect kidney health.

In children, these blockages can occur in different areas, including the ureters, bladder, or urethra, and symptoms are not always easy to spot. That is why careful evaluation and experience matter.

Our pediatric urologists are specially trained to diagnose and treat urinary tract obstructions in children. The goal is always to protect kidney function while keeping your child as comfortable as possible.

A big day for Georgia Urology!
After months of preparation, Dr. Sharpe completed his first Inflatable Pe**le Prosthesis (IPP) at the Braselton ASC! He performed a three-piece IPP with scrotoplasty in just one hour. The case was supported by an incredible team, strong leadership, and an exquisite ASC environment focused on restoring quality of life for patients.

What you don’t see in these photos is everything that led up to this moment. All the planning meetings, emails, supply orders, and checklists that built a successful day in the OR. As Dr. Sharpe said, five years of planning went into this day.

It truly takes a village. This was a major milestone for Braselton and a meaningful step forward for Georgia Urology. Well done to the entire team!
