Now you see it… now you don’t. That’s an inguinal hernia.
It can feel confusing, especially when everything looks completely normal by the time you get to the pediatrician.
This kind of on-and-off presentation is actually very typical of an inguinal hernia, which is why it can be easy to miss during an exam.

A helpful tip from Dr. Garcia: if you spot it, take a quick photo. Having that visual on hand can make the diagnosis much more straightforward and help move things along so your child can get the care they need.

Big things are happening over at our Fayetteville ASC!
We’ve officially expanded our surgical capabilities. Dr. Shapiro and Dr. Sotimehin completed our first general anesthesia cases while the team kept local procedures running smoothly alongside them.

What made the day possible was the work that happened long before rolling into the OR. Special shout out to Sandra Morone, who pulled together an incredible group and worked tirelessly behind the scenes, making sure the physicians had what they needed and patients received excellent care.

There are so many small details that go into days like this, and we are so proud of everyone who was involved in this momentous day!
