Feeling inflammatory? You’re not alone! Most of us are full of inflammation… and your food choices just may be the culprit - even if you are eating healthy. At a minimum, those choices may be exacerbating it! A big one that we overlook? Seed oils!! If you want to reduce inflammation, skip the refined sugar, processed foods and seed oils:

• Canola oil (rapeseed)
• Soybean oil
• Corn oil
• Sunflower oil
• Safflower oil
• Cottonseed oil
• Grapeseed oil
• Rice bran oil
• Vegetable oil (usually a blend ⬆️)

Always in a state of learning! Did you know that the average store bought apple is a year old when you eat it? And we wonder why our food isn’t giving us the vitamins and minerals that we need!?! I had no idea! Organic is just the same, it just doesn’t get sprayed with an additional chemical. Yall… our bodies can only keep up with the chemicals and lack of nutrients for so long!

THIS! This right here is one of the reasons I started my health journey. Being present, entering in and having FUN with my kids. We had a short girls trip to celebrate Sarah’s birthday. Several of the older girls tagged along (okay… all of them). We had SO.MUCH.FUN!! Yes, I walked up 4 1/2 flight of stairs sooooo many times and road the water slide. Yes, I was able to get up and out of the ride that you inside a group tube cross/cross applesauce. Yes, we spent as much time as we could in the water park. Yes, we were exhausted at the end of the day. Yes, I had to take some breaks on those stairs. But I DID it! There was only one slide I didn’t do and it was because I’m still be cautious with my back after being thrown for my horse. SUCCESS! Now… I think I’m going to get me a stair climber of some sort so that I will be even better next time! Side bonus: My k needs and feet didn’t hurt despite all of the stairs! My neck? Maybe a little. I was a little tense going down some of those slides the first time. 😂

Eating clean doesn’t have to be boring! Chris and I are celebrating our anniversary and are cooking up some special treats together! We can’t wait to share them with you this week. First up…. Beef and chicken without natural flavors or chemicals, A2/A2 cheese without the proteins so many react to, fresh cilantro, chemical and preservative free salsa, and homemade guacamole. I wanted to share a bit of what I’ve found so far on which cheeses do NOT use modified/chemical rennet. Getting organic cheese is the easiest way. It is prohibited under organic standards. As always, READ THOSE LABELS. In this case, it’s not 100% affective just reading the label because they have some sneaky labeling workarounds.

How to Identify Animal Rennet:

Look for "Animal Rennet" or "Animal Enzymes": This is the clearest indicator.

Check for Traditional Italian PDO/PGI Cheeses: Parmigiano-Reggiano, etc., are typically animal rennet.

Check for "Vegetarian" Label: If it says "vegetarian rennet" or "microbial rennet," it's NOT animal-based.

"Enzymes" Alone is Vague: In the U.S., this can be animal, microbial, or GMO-derived, so you need more info.

Reading things like this is so discouraging! I hear from so many people who are working so hard and thinking they are eating healthy… only to find that what they are consuming is full of chemicals, preservatives and/or manmade ingredients that our bodies can’t process. Did you know that 90% of the cheese in the US is made with a chemical form of rennet? UGH! Our taste buds may not know the difference, but our bodies do!

Update: I will research some sources/brans that do not use this. We personally buy A2 cheese from small dairy farms.
