The King of the barn maybe small but has created a strong presence. Always greets everyone with calmness, kindness, agility, and strength. Shows us, no matter how huge the obstacles is in front of us (the horses he has to go through to greet us), we are always able to get through them. When I began to use equine assisted therapy 2 years ago, Najat had just came in. A lot of clients found him so relatable, socially awkward yet wanted to make friends with the herd so badly; demanded attention but only when he wanted 😂. Quirky with so much confidence but overall he was such a great therapist. Always knew what the person needed. I had the pleasure of being able to work with him on his last day at . As we wrapped up a good day of amazing sessions, I made sure to give him my thanks for all the healing he’s has done. As he moves on to his forever home! He will be missed 💚

Sometimes we give the horses a break from session. At times, we paint in the barn to express what make us happy or express the growth we’ve experienced at the barn! As we discussed the painting, Ms. Polka decided to investigate the paints and give herself some red lipstick 😅. We assume she did not want a break. Don’t worry we use nontoxic washable finger paint, with a little effort, as she did not want her lipstick to be taken off, it was washed off! A reminder of how therapy can be fun/ funny!

Such a sweet moment of appreciation and gratitude! Love being able to enjoy these moments after sessions! Best way to regroup is taking a moment to be in the present. For example, here I am focusing on my senses, the beauty of the horse, the warmth of the sun, the sound of the wind, and the smell of fresh air. Such a great way to regroup!
