I was one of the 10%, and everyone thought I was healthy and caring for myself.

This week is eating disorders awareness week, and I thought this was a good time to jump back on here to share.

This topic is near to my heart. I’m in recovery from my own disordered relationship with food and my body. There are good days and bad days, and still days I struggle, but I’m always working towards keeping a healthy relationship with myself.

I also volunteer for for their warm helpline and their referral department. I can’t tell you how many people I talk to that are struggling to find and afford help. I’m doing what I can to help, but I know more work needs to be done.

This week is about not just awareness but also supporting those in recovery, seeking recovery, or still working up the courage to seek treatment.

If you are struggling, please know there is support available. I’m always here to listen and point you in the right direction to help you find the care you need.

I am taking some time off social media. While I love working with my clients and sharing yoga and intuitive eating, I don‘t love the hustle that Instagram has become. The time I was spending creating reels has just been too much at this moment in my life. It’s taking me away from the work i want to be doing in the world. I will still be seeing clients one on one, but I am working on finding new ways to share my message.

You can find me at antidietyoga.com, in my weekly(ish) emails, and at info@breannefailor.com.

Thank you to everyone I've met here and for following me in this space! Please reach out if you need anything!

I've had to do this a few times on my journey with Intuitive Eating, and while for a moment it feels overwhelming or frustrating, it then quickly shifts to freeing.

I am listening to my body, and it's finding a place where I don't have to control and fight to stay smaller.

My body is finding where it can just be, and if that's in a larger soze pair of pants that's ok.

What is your experience with buying bigger clothes? Good, bad, or neutral?

This is 39! My last year in my 30s. If I could go back to my 30-year-old self, I’d tell her that she is good enough the way she is. She doesn’t have to change her body to find happiness. She is worthy of love in whatever size pants fit her at that moment!

Here is to another great year of growth and healing. More time to love on my babies, more time to love myself, and more time to love my friends!

Here is to the next great adventure.

It’s been three years and so much has changed, yet so much is the same.

In these moments of sadness and anger I try to come back to the good.

Ten lessons my Dad left me with:
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
1) There is nothing in life that Duct Tape and zip ties can’t fix!⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
2) When your child asks you why they can’t do something always use Daddy Rule number 455, “because I said so”.⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
3) You can never tell a story too many times, and sometimes that story gets more interesting the more times you tell it. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
4) It’s OK to cry! For a tough policeman, and former DEA agent, my dad had a softer side and he would tear up in happy and sad times, sometimes even reading a birthday card. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
5) Any home improvement projects will require at least 10 trips to the hardware store and about as many beers.⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
6) Tater tots, sloppy joes and corn are a totally balanced dinner. One that I think he made almost every time I was with him as a child, and it worked for us. When you find something you like stick with it. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
7) Do things you love, even if you aren’t the best at them. I think this can be summed up with my dad’s deer hunting history. That man went out every year to hunt and he never got a deer, but he loved sitting in a tree, reading a book and drinking a beer so he did it!⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
8)Sometimes things don’t work out as you had wished but that’s OK, things work out the way they need to. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
9) In life, and golf, it’s OK to take a mulligan or two. The last time he visited we took Elliot & Josh to play putt putt and Dad kept score, needless to say my boys (and Dad) took a few mulligans that game. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
10) This last lesson is one I learned from him that I’ll never be able to thank him for, but it might be the most important lesson he’s ever taught me. Live every day to its fullest, and enjoy all the everyday little moments, you don’t know when they might be your last.

No, really, how are you feeling today?

I am day ten post covid, and while I feel better physically, I am feeling all over the place mentally.

I was trying to get back into the swing of life and press the reset button on our summer. We started my kids' summer break with two-plus weeks of covid isolations, which is not a fun way to kick off the summer.

I haven't taught a yoga class in two weeks, and I'm feeling nervous about getting back to teaching today. It's funny how when you get out of routine, things can feel a little overwhelming.

With my kids being home for the summer, I'm also trying to figure out how to work and enjoy this time with them.

I'm trying to look at this week as a transition week; wish me luck!!

Changes are here! Due to my kid's schedule this summer, I have to make some schedule changes. I won't be teaching Sunday Morning Zoom classes again until the fall.

However, I'm excited to announce two new partnerships! Both of them allow you to still practice with me but offer two unique ways!

I’m excited to be offering classes on-demand on ’s Yoga For Everybody platform!

She offers a wide variety of classes for anyone looking to explore yoga. Even better, you can get 50% for three months if you use the code: SUMMERTUNEUP!

The second way you can practice with me is through the .mama.well membership starting in June! More details to come, but these classes are great for the busy mom that is also looking for support in intuitive eating and a non-diet approach to nutrition and support from other mom’s on this same journey!

While I'll miss seeing you all on zoom, I'm excited to share with you these new ways we can practice together!

Also, don't forget I offer private zoom yoga if you need a little more support on this journey!

Let me know if you have any questions!

I’ve spent this week with my oldest doing something he loves. Things didn’t go as he hoped with his computer program, and he was disappointed.

It’s funny how watching your kids can bring up many feelings about what success looks like in life.

I was thinking about my own experience with what success looks like in my life.

For many years I was consumed with having this picture-perfect life: the “right” house, the “right” body, the “right” foods. The funny thing is I fought so hard to cling to this idea that if I just did everything “right,” I could control our lives.

Guess what? Not only was it exhausting it didn’t work. Control didn’t make me happy it just made me more worried I was going to let something slip and it would all come crashing down.

This weekend and the months leading up to this weekend Elliot put in work to try and beat his previous high score in programing and it didn’t work.

But guess what he learned that sometimes even if you put in the work things don’t always go as you hoped.

He learned that we are proud of him for even trying.

He learned that even if he fails it’s ok.

He learned resilience and to me that lesson will serve him more in life than winning a competition.

My ten year old is reminding me that having everything go perfectly isn’t the goal in life.

It’s enjoying the time we have and finding some fun in the process.

I never thought I'd spend a Sunday watching a play-by-play feed of a baseball game while trying to make a paper airplane shooter out of a box and shooting air rockets in the backyard, but here I am.

This is motherhood; it's spending time with the little people you made doing what they love.

It's learning how to connect with unique personalities helping them grow and discover their loves and passions.

It's also being in tears beccause it's not always picture-perfect. There are times that you are ovverwhelmed with trying to raise these little humans, and you aren't your best self.

It's teaching your little people what it means to be part of a family, what it looks like to say you are sorry, and to love unconditionally.

I may not being doing this mom thing perfectly but I'm pretty proud of the three little men that call me mom.
