Please join us in congratulating our newest BCBA, Stephanie Fuqua, on passing her exam & accomplishing this milestone! 🎉
Stephanie lives in Corsicana, TX, with her husband, Xavier, and their three children: Elena, Jameson, and Cameron. Growing up, anytime someone asked Stephanie, “What do you want to do when you grow up?” her answer was always, “To help people.” She didn’t yet know what that would look like, but as she got older, she fell in love with psychology and became fascinated by one big question: “Why do people do what they do?” That curiosity ultimately led her to the field of Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA).
She became a Registered Behavior Technician (RBT) at the beginning of COVID in 2020 and temporarily left the field after the birth of her first son. She completed her master’s program while juggling life as a new mom and later welcoming her second son. Stephanie remembers emailing her professor to see if she could submit work early because she would be giving birth later that day!
Stephanie recalls wanting to be done with school and the ABA field during that time because raising three kids was, and still is, incredibly hard. But it was that same whisper of “I want to help people” that pushed her to finish her master’s program, return to the field, and ultimately pass her exam. Stephanie says she owes a lot to her sweet husband, who regularly held down the fort while she had her nose buried in books and study guides.
“ABA, for me, is the answer to a childhood goal and a passion that I hold very dearly,” she says. ❤
Congratulations, Stephanie! We are proud of you and can't wait to watch you shine in this new role.
