The Friends and Family of 6-year-old Zach Seitzinger are uniting to raise money to help with his battle against Leukemia. “Zachy’s Fight”

Zachary Seitzinger was diagnosed with Leukemia on September 13 2012. He has started the first round of Chemotherapy Treatment on September 15th 2012. As many of you might know Leukemia, cancer of the blood and bone marrow, is a benzene-related illness that can be very difficult to treat. Just like any type of cancer, chemotherapy, radiation, and surgery are common methods of care. The cost of leukemia treatment can be overwhelming. The average cost of just one round of chemotherapy is approximately $150,000. Unfortunately, many patients require several rounds of chemotherapy to achieve success. Chemotherapy also requires comprehensive support and after care treatment, which can include special antibiotics, injections, blood transfusions, and more. Some patients living with leukemia may also require a bone marrow transplant. The average cost of this treatment is $250,000 or more. In many cases, patients may require additional treatment after this procedure. Other costly procedures, such as a splenectomy to remove the spleen, may also be required. Additional costs for transportation, hospitalization, supportive care, and other expenses may also be necessary to care for a loved one with a benzene related illness. However, we remain hopeful that he will beat the odds, and grateful for each day we are given. Zachy is 4 years old with Loving Parents that are not able to work due to the frequency of recurrences and treatment needed to fight this. His Father, Sonny, is an independent contractor who is dependant on the weather for his job of building in the summer and winter months. Their private insurance plan is very expensive and covers very little being self-employed, especially the high tech scans and tests needed to keep on top of this disease. This is a minimum best-case scenario 3-year battle and will drain their family both mentally and financially. Zackary is in the battle of his life right now and the mounting medical bills are a worry we would like I would like to take away from his family. We can't change this disease, but we can change how they fight it! Thank you all for your donations, support and most importantly prayers. We do believe in miracles and we pray for one each day. This past weekend was five long years in the making. You see, the thing about cancer is that it alters the patients life in more ways than you think, down to the water that you can get into. When he has his port put in that ended all lake activities due to what may be in the water and cause an infection in his port line. So our boat was put up and not used for five years, in that time life went on and he beat cancer. So here we are and here he is almost FIVE YEARS after being diagnosed in the lake!! We traded in our "old" boat with many family memories for a new one to make so many more family and friend memories!!! He had a blast this weekend and cannot wait to go back out for more fun in the sun!!!! So happy for this "normal"!

His very first time to camp and then when he left on Sunday. How time flies and what 4 years can do! Such a strong kid he is to take this camp adventure all by himself this year. Love and miss him!

There he goes! Off to Camp Sanguinity for the week and all by himself. Sissy stayed home this year so he is rolling solo for this trip! We know he will have a blast and will see him on Friday!
