Baby love.

Postpartum is such an overwhelming experience! Sometimes you just need someone to hold baby while you take a shower. 🙋🏻‍♀️

At our postpartum visit, we talk through your birth experience and I am there to help with whatever you need! Need your dishes washed? I got you! Run the laundry? Im here for it!

My body made this. (My husband’s helped, too!)

I got some sobering news from my doctor yesterday about my potential future pregnancy. I will likely never get to experience full labor, and definitely will never be able to have a natural birth.

After watching so many powerful women accomplish something so beautiful, I was hoping to someday get the chance to do it myself. Unfortunately, my preeclampsia, high blood pressure, gestational diabetes and emergency, pre term cesarean history make my case quite complicated.

BUT- I have a beautiful baby girl. I’m not a failure, my body housed and protected this sweet girl for 31+4 weeks… to the best of its ability, and thanks to my being a healthy human in general, she did remarkably well.

If I am fortunate enough to have a second pregnancy, I will lean in, have faith, and do everything in my power to protect my sweet miracle. I know that I am capable of growing a healthy human.

And luckily, I have the best job in the world where I get to watch women experience the birth of their dreams. I get to witness the most beautiful moment in life so often, and it’s a tremendous honor!

That said, if you don’t experience the birth you planned, or would hope for- I’m here for you. I’m grieving that experience WITH you. Im happy to talk with you and hear your thoughts, feelings, desires, all of it! Lean on me.

Before going into labor, it’s so important to curate a birth team who knows your preferences and is willing to hold space for you. When you’re in the moment, you want people surrounding you with love, clear communication, and comfort.

This body of yours has created a tiny human and housed and nourished it. Your body signals to you when it is ready to birth your little one. The waves come, and they intensify. This is bringing you closer to meeting your baby! Your body is strong, it’s capable, and you can trust it to work with your baby to bring him/her down!
