National Wear Red Day® is this Friday, Feb. 3! This special day is the icon day of American Heart Month. Each year on the first Friday in February, our nation comes together to raise awareness about our No. 1 killer of both women and men- cardiovascular disease - by wearing red and spreading lifesaving information.



This year for American Heart Month, we’re encouraging the public to Be the Beat by keeping their healthy rhythm going and learning Hands-Only CPR. Why? Because about 70% or nearly 3 in 4 cardiac arrests that happen outside of the hospital happen in homes. If you are called on to perform CPR, it will likely be for someone you love. Be the Beat for someone you love by learning CPR with Each Beat Counts CPR Training or at Heart.org.

Only about 40% of people who experience an out-of-hospital cardiac arrest receive the immediate help that they need before professional help arrives. Help us train the public by encouraging others to learn Hands-Only CPR by watching a Hands-Only CPR video. The public can also learn how to implement an AED program at https://cpr.heart.org/en/training-programs/aed-implementation.
