Good food ideas for baby :)
I always keep a bag of frozen organic blueberries (cheaper than buying in produce section right now!) and will take a handful at a time out and keep in tupperware in the fridge. This allows them to thaw, making them a little softer for baby to eat. AND as a bonus, as they thaw, they will start releasing some of their juices. I have been adding the extra juice to full fat coconut milk for a yummy drink. Frozen blueberries are MESSY, as you can see from the face, but it's a great finger food for them to practice their pincer grab and dexterity with the hands.
Another great recipe we are loving is banana pancakes. These are made with 2 simple ingredients and contain no grain. *Very important babies do not receive grain before one year. *
We smear these with almond butter and chop up into bite size pieces and she will eat 2 easily for breakfast.
My little on is 10 months old, so I would wait a bit to ensure there are no egg allergies present in your little one. And the whites of eggs should not be introduced to babies until after 1 year due to a high allergy that can come from them. However, eggs baked into goods is usually just fine. We have not had a problem with these pancakes, but just use caution and watch your baby's reaction!
Banana Pancakes
1 ripe banana
2 eggs
-Mash banana with a fork until no lumps
-transfer to a bowl and add 2 eggs. Stir to combine
-Heat a skillet and coat with a little grassfed butter, pour quarter of batter into pan. Cook about 3-4 minutes on one side and flip. Cook other side about the same time, until pancake is cooked through.
Will make about 4 pancakes.
Healthy foods, happy kids :)
