Family and friends of Tammy Wallace have come together to support them any way we can. Due to an abcess on her spine, and the surgery to remove it, Tammy was paralyzed from the chest down in the spring of 2014. Our first fundraiser for her, the Tam Jam Concert in October 2014, raised over $25,000 to help her pay for at-home health care for her and Calvin, changes to their home to make it wheelchair accessible, an iPad for Tammy to have access to the internet while in her chair or in bed, and other necessities, like groceries. Since then, Calvin passed away, and Tammy has been diagnosed with cancer of the endometrium. Almost all of the money we raised in 2014 is gone, and she needs our help to continue paying for at-home health care, groceries, and other bills. Please consider making a donation to Tammy via Go Fund Me: https://www.gofundme.com/tamjam

We are also in the process of setting up at eBay account to raise money, as well. "Like" this page, and "Get Notifications" to receive updates and news about the fundraiser, and about Tammy's health. Don't forget to share the link to the GoFundMe page, and/or page on your wall regularly. (Not everyone has their FB settings so that they see everything their friends post at once - some only see the "popular" posts.) https://www.facebook.com/events/435306513278461

Thank you so much to those of you who have continued to donate to the GoFundMe account. You've raised $1,100, in addition to the $200 that was donated by mail, for a total of $1,300. https://www.gofundme.com/tamjam

Our dear friend, Tammy (Rica) Wallace, needs your help! She's met again with ongoing and increasing medical expenses that she can no longer afford. Around Easter of 2014, Tammy was diagnosed with cellulitis in her arm, which spread to her back, and lead to the discovery of an abcess on her spine....

Tammy passed away this evening, peacefully, and surrounded by family and friends. The amount you helped raise in the past month ($1,000 total) will go toward any outstanding expenses, or toward funeral costs or other arrangements the family needs to make. (You can still make a donation to the GoFundMe account if you'd like to.) I will update with information about services for Tammy as soon as possible. Thank you for your love and kindness. https://www.gofundme.com/tamjam

Tammy has been moved to a room, is still unresponsive, and her ammonia levels are still high. They are taking her off of the machine to help her breathe more slowly, and are calling in hospice. Please continue to surround her and her family with love.

After being sent home, Tammy is back in the hospital today. Her ammonia levels are very high, her liver isn't functioning properly, and she's in a coma-like state. She's still in the ER. Will update with more info.

Tammy came home from the hospital in time for the holidays, but has been admitted again with fever, vomiting, and 50 lbs. of retained fluid. We will be creating a GoFundMe account to raise money for her again to help cover her medical bills and at-home care, and we will be listing some items on eBay for her as well. We'll share the links with you soon!

Unfortunately, Tammy's blood counts weren't good enough for her to come home today, so she's still in the hospital, but she continues to improve.

12/20/2015

The doctor said that Tammy is doing well enough that she may be able to come home tomorrow! He also said that, since she's improved so much over the last couple of days, that she might be able to tolerate surgery.

Update on Tammy: She is still at MCA hospital, alert and aware. She has had several tests done, and her biopsy tested positive for adenocarcinoma (a type of cancer of glandular tissue) of the endometrium (the lining of the uterus.) She is currently not a candidate for chemo or surgery, and there are some complications with blood clotting and the medication she takes regularly. She and her family are waiting to see what her options for treatment are. Please continue to keep them in your thoughts and prayers! Will update with more info.

Hi, everyone, Tammy is in the hospital due to severe hemorrhage. She has received blood several times; the bleeding has stopped, and she is more alert today. Will update with more info.
