"Gaslight" refers to the manipulation and psychological abuse of a person to make them doubt their own perceptions, memories, and sanity over time. It can make one feel crazy, confused, even traumatized.
To address and heal from gaslighting, one must focus on building their reality by documenting incidents, seeking support from trusted family and friends who validate the experiences, and engaging with a therapist to process the emotional toll of the abuse and develop coping strategies. One should also practice setting boundaries with the gaslighter and, if the relationship continues, focus on well-being by prioritizing activities that bring joy and safety.
