Managing depression and stress with Yoga & Meditation
At present, it is not uncommon to hear that someone has been admitted to a hospital for treatment for depression, excessive stress, or suicidal thoughts.
I just read that Senator John Fetterman is going to undergo treatment for depression; I am delighted that personalities like him take the initiative to take care of themselves and make it public because they are the ones who set an example to take care of us and teach us that depression or stress is not a cause of shame but are silent disease attacking our society and slowly annihilating us.
During the first years of my divorce, I suffered from an extreme depression that I hid very well, or at least that's what I think.
I have a daughter, and I needed to be strong for her, and apart from her, I had to show a happy face in my work that would indicate that I had everything under control.
In those dark moments, I took refuge in Yoga, and with each practice, I gradually recovered my peace, happiness, and balance.
Yoga became my shelter. When I practiced, I felt strong and in control. I could breathe easily, sleep better and be patient with everything around me. My strength in my body transferred to my daily life; my strength became my confidence and genuine happiness.
That is why I wanted to share my practice and teach people that there are ways to manage stress and depression through natural methods that everyone can practice daily.
The office space became my main arena because it is where people become disconnected from themselves, work becomes overwhelming, and little by little, life and responsibilities begin to take place in our days, and our physical and mental health begins to deteriorate.
"And this is where Yoga & meditation kicks in."
When I teach Yoga in corporations, I see my classes' positive effects on my students. People take their health back as something of vital matter and begin to prioritize worthwhile things.
A side effect of the practice of Yoga in the office is that employees feel happy, creative, and more productive. And I am not even mentioning all the health effects like improving posture, alleviating back and neck pain, etc.
Everyone wins, both the company and the employee.
I hope that more corporations turn their gaze toward the importance of caring for their employees' physical and mental health. Employees are the heart of corporations.
Please get in touch with me if you are interested in integrating Yoga and Meditation classes into your wellness program. I will be very happy to schedule a free Yoga class for your employees.
