Tick Bites:
Donuts with Dad was a bit different this morning. It quickly became medic kit/triage in truck with Dad. Tick bites have been increasingly common in our area as of late. It’s the perfect time of year right now as well. L had a tick on her back that didn’t want to come out. Once removed, the mouth parts were still embedded. Be on the lookout for ticks in the home/on your family especially if you’re near a field or have household furry family members. Few tips:
1. Now is time of year for increased ticks and tick bites
2. When removing tick, DO NOT squeeze or crush the tick body.
3. Check to see if mouth parts were left behind. If so, DO NOT leave them in due to increased risk of infection. Use tweezers to remove or schedule visit with doctor to remove
4. Flush out area, apply antiseptic wipes and cream. For crunchy people like us, ACV works great as well.
5. Monitor area/person for 72-96 hours for rash, infection, fever, hives, wheezing, swelling, diarrhea, cramping, and flulike symptoms
6. Always keep some kind of first-aid or medic kit with you.
7. Always keep tick if possible for doctor to identify and treat properly if symptoms develop.
8. Although Lymes isn’t very popular in Texas, there are 4 main types of ticks and there are multiple conditions that are common and must monitor/treat early.
Top supplements:

As always, call your doctor for treatments and if medications are the right call. Never forget DIET is our biggest weapon against EVERYTHING. Eat healthy and eat often
