🌼Most of my early career was spent in schools where drugs and violence were the norm. My first teaching job was in Detroit just before the summer riots of 1967 when that school was burnt to the ground. When I arrived in Dallas, I was placed in a junior high where a student had been killed in the hallway the previous year. I had a strong belief that these children could be helped by a teacher who had faith in them. That was true in some instances. In others it wasn't because the problem was systemic. We needed a village to make a difference, not a lone ranger. In my innocence, I did help some children. I remember the young man who learned how to read silently and was so grateful he brought his high school friends back to meet me. Then there were the 2 students in gifted classes who I ran into years later and attributed their current success to my talks with them.

❤️ There's a reason we have expressions like: 2 heads are better than one, and it takes 2 to tango. Doug Hilton and Mantak Chia are the 2 heads who recognized that you could achieve profound healing by pairing EMDR with the Universal Healing Tao. Together these systems create what neither could do alone: fast profound relief from emotional trauma. Although EMDR relieves the symptoms of PTSD, depression, anxiety and addiction, it doesn't cure the physical harm that the stress does to the body. As we've shown often on my show, when negative emotions are not released, they get stored in the body, causing damage to our physical, mental, emotional and spiritual health and well-being. By combining their unique skills, Doug and Mantak Chia developed a powerful self-healing practice that you can learn and apply quickly and easily. It even brings added good luck because it changes the energy in your body.

🌺 AFFIRMATION🌺

My new affirmation for you came from Baroo, who is a Master Teacher and Healer in the Spiritual Realm. He wants us to start seeing ourselves as light rather than as a physical body. Light is energy that is fluid, flexible, and in motion. When we understand that we are made of energy, we know that we are limitless and capable of changing anything in our physical, emotional, or mental body. Say this now: “Through love, I am unlimited in my ability to create my reality in whatever way I choose.” Say it one more time: “Through love, I am unlimited in my ability to create my reality in whatever way I choose.” Say this affirmation often. It will help you create positive change and movement.

💫 ARCHANGEL KATRINA ALAYHU💫

This week I am going to introduce you to Archangel Katrina Alayhu who is the archangel of hope. Ask for her help daily in addition to whoever else you pray to in order to help you live with hope, even in the most difficult circumstances.

Use your own words or say something like: Archangel Katrina Alayhu, I give you permission in a positive way only to help me be hopeful.

You can even be more specific and say something like: Archangel Katrina Alayhu, I give you permission in a positive way only to help me be hopeful that I will have a healthy relationship with my son.

Pay attention to signs, synchronicity, and new information. This is a process, not an event. Trust that she is helping you--because she is.

🌹 We are all souls who have taken on a physical form during this incarnation on Planet Earth. The soul is infinite and therefore has immense talents, abilities, and knowledge accumulated from many thousands of lifetimes, in many dimensions and in many forms of life all over the cosmos. When born onto this planet, we forget why we are here and often feel a deep void or that there must be more to life. Some people feel lost and some want to know more and empower themselves on all levels by living their highest soul purpose. Behavioral patterns are often created over many lifetimes which have not always served our higher soul growth and good. My guest, Judith Kusel, will share how her Soul Readings help people create more loving patterns, thereby bringing greater love and insight into their lives and relationships. Join us Thursday to explore the power of Judith’s Soul Readings and her discoveries of the first Supercontinent and the origin of humans on earth. ▶️ https://tinyurl.com/yh6hvzsp

🪴 Families, schools, peers and societal beliefs mold children into becoming who they think they need to be in order to receive love and acceptance. By taking on this false self, they disconnect from their natural self with all of its innate gifts and authentic ways of being in the world. The adult winds up succeeding at living someone else's life, or put another way, they fail at living their own life. No matter how much success they garner, they never feel satisfied or fulfilled because they just keep feeding the false self. This leads to ongoing problems that show up as depression, anxiety, stress, anger, unhappiness and disease. Most people never realize the origin of their difficulties and try to deal with their physical, emotional and psychological symptoms as individual problems rather than as a systemic one. When the underlying cause is diagnosed correctly, the system can be healed.

💐 Some of you remember the story of Patty Hearst-Shaw, the granddaughter of the American publishing magnate, William Randolph Hearst. In 1974, she was kidnapped and told that she could either help her captors or be killed by them. This ended with her participating in an armed robbery and serving a prison sentence. Eventually she was released by presidential order and then pardoned. Most women coerced into illegal activities do not receive early release or a pardon. Patty Hearst-Shaw was targeted because of her lineage. Most women caught in intimate coercion got their because of growing up with abuse, coercion, control and feelings of hopelessness. Their childhood set them up to repeat the familiar pattern. There is hope, however. When we understand the roots of our behavior, we have the opportunity to change and start behaving in ways that are true to our own values and belief systems.

Listen to my October 2015 show on-demand with guest Dr. Marti Loring as she will show us the way out of coercion. ▶️ https://tinyurl.com/mr3tt9st

🌈 TIP OF THE WEEK🌈

Keep a Success Journal

It’s easy to take for granted what is working in our lives and just focus on what is absent.

In a special journal, take a few minutes every day to write down 1 to 3 ways in which you were successful in your emotional responses, thoughts, words or actions. Include changes in your relationships, work, health and/or finances. Even the smallest action or new thought can be a major personal victory. The more you do this, the better you will feel about yourself.

This includes fully understanding what the actual problem is that you’re wanting to improve. Until you can name something, you cannot fully understand it, and therefore you cannot fully heal from it. This is true whether the difficulty is physical, mental, or emotional. There’s a dividing line marking before you wake up to the truth and after you wake up. Once you know the truth, you can make the decisions that will help you improve the quality of your life physically, mentally, emotionally, and spiritually.

I often have clients come to me who spent years unsuccessfully seeking help from counselors and healers who did not identify the problem accurately and therefore were not able to help them. In each of these instances, the source of their emotional pain was abuse. Often, they were told that there was something wrong with them, which just reinforced what they were already thinking rather than helping them identify themselves as a victim. Once you know you’ve been victimized, you can make new and better choices, including not allowing yourself to be a victim. You can take charge of your life and become self-empowered.

The same is true when you name your situation as estrangement from your adult child. It is a much harsher term and even more painful than realizing you’ve been abused, but until you acknowledge it, you cannot heal from it. With the correct diagnosis, suddenly all the pieces fall into place. It all makes sense, and you can begin the process of letting go of guilt, shame, and deep sadness and take steps to repair the relationship if your adult child is willing to do so. Either way, you can heal yourself.

🌿 Relationships are about the choices we make in life. Sometimes we make choices that are not healthy for ourselves because we have been conditioned since birth by our families and-or society to act and think in certain ways. The conditioning can even start in the womb where we hear conversations between our mother and other people and feel her emotions. All of this goes deep into our cells and limits our choices--until we make a new choice and take charge of our own life. We can choose to stop putting the emotional, physical, mental or financial needs of others before those of ourselves. We can begin to ask the question: if we don't take care of our own needs, who will do it for us? And if we do keep putting ourselves last, do we realize that we will deplete our energy? If the well is dry, we have nothing to give! We must fill ourselves and make self-loving choices. This is our life and we are the most important person in our life.

🐦 Ten million Gen X and Baby Boomer parents are estranged from their adult children. Estrangement is different from just not talking to or seeing each other. It means your child treats you like a stranger. The severity ranges from being totally cutoff and never communicating to emotional disconnection even if you see each other to on-and-off estrangement. Parents feel guilt, shame, and sadness, which can turn into frustration and anger. While each situation is unique, there are practical and effective techniques all parents can use to understand and heal these painful breaches. Reconciliation is a slow process that can lead to renewed relations. Because relationships are about two people, we cannot control the outcome. We can, however, choose to heal ourselves by releasing the guilt, shame, and pain and finding self-love and wholeness.

Listen to my October 2020 show on-demand with guest Tina Gilbertson to learn how to heal yourself and take steps to heal your relationship with your adult child. ▶️ https://tinyurl.com/39mhd6ds
