When answers aren’t obvious, imaging makes the difference.

In this case, Dr. Amy Armentrout and Dr. Lon Hays explain how a CT scan revealed subtle bone changes that pointed to a hidden soft tissue injury in Izzy’s wrist, not his elbow as first suspected.

Even when you can’t see ligaments directly, CT’s fine detail can tell the story. Listen to Episode 14 today!

Mondays tend to bring the most stories… and the most details 😂

We call it: gentle parenting the adults.

🐾 Patient Spotlight: Imogen 🐾

Meet Imogen, a stellar Belgian Malinois who recently came in for an MRI of her stifle and was such a good girl throughout the entire process. Smart, focused, and calm, she showed us exactly why working dogs are in a league of their own.

For working dogs, stifle MRIs are especially valuable. They allow us to see soft tissue structures like ligaments, cartilage, and menisci in incredible detail, helping pinpoint injuries that may not show up on X-rays. That means more accurate diagnoses, targeted treatment plans, and a clearer path to recovery, all with the goal of getting these athletes back to work safely.

Great job, Imogen! We’re wishing you the best! 💜🐾

Duncan clocked in for his shift at the front desk today 🐾💼✨

Greeting clients, collecting belly rubs, and helping Alana “answer” the phones (he’s still working on the talking part 😉📞🐶). Best coworker ever? We think so. 💛

Vet Debt: We hear it all the time- “Vets are just in it for the money.”

The reality? The average veterinarian earns around $125,000 a year while graduating with roughly $185,000 in student debt. Vet school is a full-time commitment, no side jobs, no extra income, just years of training while still paying to live. This episode breaks down the vet debt myth and the financial reality behind the profession. 🩺🐾

Your veterinarian isn’t the villain. They’re human.

While the internet calls vets “money-hungry,” many are missing their kids’ games, staying up late researching cases, and calling specialists after hours, because they care.

In this bonus clip from Diagnostic Tails, Dr. Amy Armentrout and Dr. Lon Hays remind us that kindness matters, empathy saves careers, and veterinarians are doing their best for pets and the people who love them.

🐾 Be kind to your vet.

Spotlight: Meet C**a!

C**a is a gentle giant Saint Bernard who recently came in for an MRI. He made himself right at home, laying on the floor and hanging out with our vet techs like they’d known each other forever. Big dog, bigger heart. 💙🐾
