The thing I love most about Buddhism is that it’s not a religion. It’s a philosophy, any religion or non religion can and should practice it. I’ve studied a few different religions, and they all have some type of reference to being in the present moment, being still, not living in the past, not worrying about tomorrow, just being with an open heart and openness to divine guidance.
📌 Public Statement: The Walk For Peace was created with a simple and sincere purpose: to cultivate peace through compassion, loving-kindness, and mindfulness, and to bring peace to individuals, communities, our country, and the world.
Along this journey, some have asked about the recognition of Vesak as a National Holiday in the United States. The aspiration for Vesak recognition is not specific to Hương Đạo Vipassana Bhavana Center, nor to any single organization. It is a shared and longstanding dream held by Buddhists around the world, rooted in honoring the universal values of wisdom, compassion, and peace embodied in the Buddha’s life.
The Walk For Peace itself is not a political movement, nor is it focused on advocacy or legislation. Rather, it is a spiritual offering—an invitation to live peace through everyday actions, mindful steps, and open hearts. We believe that when peace is cultivated within, it naturally ripples outward into society.
Our focus remains on walking together in harmony, sowing seeds of understanding, and allowing peace to arise organically—wherever conditions are wholesome and ready.
With gratitude and respect.
The Walk For Peace Team
May you and all beings be well, happy and at peace. 🙏
