Stability is balanced against stagnation in life. We strive for stability at home, work, and in our activities. This is seen in all facets of our day to day existence –family, money, activities, and more. So, we go to work, walk through the familiar daily patterns, and sleep. Our world seems fairly stable. But this pattern can turn into stagnation. What I mean by “stagnation” is that nothing new occurs and we fail to see the newness of each day and its possibilities. The solution is to find enough stability yet keep open to possibility, finding a newness to the day that is different from the past. If you learn something new each day, do something that you haven’t done before, or realize a new goal, you can avoid the stagnation of living the SAME DAY over and over.
