4 TIPS for Couples Going into 2023
- Try to communicate what your needing instead of anger or frustration during an intense conversation or disagreement
- Use I statements instead of You statements which can put your partner in defense mode
- Take breaks from the conversation if needed if your becoming overwhelmed, it’s okay to revisit a conversation later instead of forcing yourself to experience more negative emotions
- Tell your partner what your needing from the convo before actually beginning the conversation such as : “I just need you to listen, or can we fix this issue that’s been on my mind”

Always remember it’s y’all vs the problem
