I had an incredible opportunity to hear Sheree Harvey from Enterhealth Outpatient Center present about mindfulness this past Friday! Afterward, I felt inspired to practice what I learned by relaxing in the courtyard before going home

Happy 👾

Time often creates a sense of urgency. As deadlines, dreams, and death loom over our heads, we tell ourselves that we don’t have any to waste. While it’s true that our time is limited, that doesn’t mean we can’t allow ourselves to take the time we need. Personal growth is a process of practice and repetition. Sometimes, it’s exciting and joyous, and other times it’s frustrating and exhausting. Either way, you’re likely where you need to be.

I encourage you to take your time today by using small, 30-second increments to focus on yourself and those important to you.

One thing that helps me is to reset my body by taking a slow, deep breath when I start feeling overwhelmed–15 seconds in and 15 seconds out. If you want to share what works for you, please comment below!

“Does online counseling feel personal?”
“Can playing a video game help my child?”
I’m glad I get asked these questions. As a client, you want to feel your counselor connected with you in your vulnerability. As a parent, you want to make sure that you're investing in your child’s wellbeing. That’s why I strive to answer these questions with my actions rather than just my words–because “Yes,” only goes so far.

I’m Dan Ceske–a Licensed Professional Counselor from Denton, Texas, with a unique approach to teletherapy. I specialize in working with children, teens, and adults experiencing issues with self-esteem, anxiety, and depression, helping them feel empowered to navigate life’s challenges.

"To be a victim of gaslighting is to be the legendary frog in a pot of water that is placed over a low flame."

Gaslighting is a manipulation tactic that causes a person to question their own perceptions. Healing from gaslighting in a relationship comes from within.

Please, call me Dan.

I graduated from the University of North Texas with a Master of Science in counseling, and I am a Licensed Professional Counselor-Intern and a Nationally Certified Counselor. I provide therapy for all ages. I provide play therapy for children, ages 3-9, activity therapy for preadolescents, ages 10-14, and talk therapy for ages 15 and up. In addition, I enjoy working with parents and caregivers to enhance their relationships with their children through Child Parent Relationship Training.

Prior to joining Guiding Compass Counseling, I worked at Friends of the Family as the Male Mentor, where my purpose was to provide a positive male relationship for children in the shelter. During my time at Friends of the Family, I developed a passion for the domestic violence movement, and I continue to use my resources to be an advocate. My work at Friends of the Family also validated my belief in the power of a safe, genuine, and caring relationship as I witnessed the clients I worked with heal and grow.
