Did you know good sleep is one of the quiet pillars of recovery and weight loss?It keeps your metabolism steady, your hunger cues clearer, and your energy more stable through the day. When sleep improves, your habits feel easier to follow and your progress becomes more consistent 🛌🏻💤

If you’ve been feeling more tired than usual or noticing changes in your appetite, your sleep may need a little more care. Even small adjustments can make a big impact on how you feel after surgery.

Thanksgiving can bring a mix of emotions after bariatric surgery. There’s excitement, a little worry, and the hope of enjoying the day without feeling off track. The key is approaching the holiday with intention instead of pressure 🦃🥧🍂

Think about the parts of the day that matter most to you. Maybe it’s sharing time with family, helping in the kitchen, or simply being present without focusing on the food. When the meaning of the celebration stays at the center, the meal becomes just one small piece of a bigger picture 🧡

It also helps to stay connected to how you want to feel afterward: comfortable, energized, and proud of your choices. That mindset makes it easier to navigate the table and listen to your body ✨

Whatever Thanksgiving looks like for you this year, remember that you can enjoy it fully while still honoring your recovery and your goals. Progress is built on consistency, not on one holiday.

Happy Thanksgiving! 🦃🍂💛

Week 3 can feel like a setback, but it’s actually one of the most common phases after weight loss surgery. Your body is adjusting, healing, and recalibrating, even if the scale isn’t moving.

This pause doesn’t erase your progress.
It doesn’t define your outcome.

It’s simply part of the journey your body takes as it recovers ✨

Stay patient, stay consistent, and trust the process you’re following. Your results are still unfolding, even if you can’t see them yet.

The week 3 stall can feel discouraging, but it’s actually a normal part of the recovery process. Your body is healing, shifting fluids, and adjusting hormones and all of that can temporarily slow the scale.

This doesn’t mean you’re doing anything wrong. It doesn’t mean your progress stopped.

Stay consistent, trust your plan, and give your body the time it needs. The weight loss will pick up again.

A new study published in JAMA Surgery compared the outcomes of bariatric surgery and GLP-1 medications in more than 30,000 patients.

Findings showed that surgery leads to greater, longer-lasting weight loss, with lower long-term healthcare costs and better overall outcomes.

GLP-1 medications can be a great option for many patients, but for those facing severe obesity, the evidence and clinical experience continue to show that surgery provides stronger, more durable results and long-term value.

This isn’t really about choosing one or the other. Both approaches play an important role in treatment, but for many with class II or III obesity, surgery remains the most effective and lasting path to better health.
